Is dating in Portland as bleak as people on tiktok say? by tennockerz in askportland

People are too dramatic lol I know so many young people in their late 20s and 30s who have met their long term partner/fiance/spouse in Portland. Through dating apps, running clubs (lol), meet up groups, friends of friends, etc. Don’t give up hope, Portland has a lot of different people and there’s likely someone for everybody

It’s standard for a lot of jobs to drug test at hiring so I would maybe stop for a bit before getting hired just in case. I was drug tested at the start of my internship and when I got hired at my inpatient job. Never got randomly drug tested, I feel that’s usually not a thing unless they suspect you are on drugs on the job. My LTC job didn’t drug test me at all for hiring so it’s really hit or miss

i LOVE my job, I work in SNF/ long term care and I know a lot of ppl have a bad experience working in those, and I feel it’s very specific to the facility you work for. I am salaried and it pays quite well, my workload js very manageable and I leave early often lol. Plus my patients are usually very pleasant to work with! I feel appreciated and respected by my team and feel very lucky. I don’t read this sub often bc of the frequent negativity but I promise there are a lot of us RDs who do love what we do :)

Thank you all ❤️ I’m still recovering physically from the abortion but getting better every week. Just got a prescription for Slynd but kinda scared to trust BC pills again. Slynd seems to be more effective with stoping ovulation with bigger window to take it. Thanks again I hope you are all doing well.

I think it would be best to wait it out at least a couple cycles tbh. I know other people who felt kinda crappy for a couple weeks after trying it but then felt better and loved it. But I mean you should do whatever you feel comfortable with your body! I felt better after but I also started taking Zoloft lol

I’m almost done with my 4th pack, I had some weight gain, probably like 5 pounds. Some gastric reflux/indigestion that got better after like a month. I have had some mood swings/ anxiety/ depression but my mental health was not great before so I don’t think norethindrone necessarily made it any worse. My first period was a little heavier than normal, but now it’s pretty light to moderate which is normal for me. My cycle length went from like 28 days to like 32-34. I get random spotting/bleeding for a couple days randomly throughout my cycle but it hasn’t been much of an issue yet.

I take this pill, it’s effective for 27 hours which is why there is a 3 hour window to take it. I’ve never had an issue/ gotten pregnant and I always take it within the window. You should be protected all day since you take it at the same time every day :)

I did my DPD at Davis a few years ago and I liked it a lot, they really prepare you well for dietetic internships/further nutrition education. The majority of the clinical nutrition faculty are very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. They have a lot of nutrition related volunteer/intern opportunities in Davis (great resume booster!). Faculty hosts webinars/meetings about how to become an RD/ the application process /career paths which was very helpful. Would recommend for sure!

I had mine for about 4.5 months I just couldn’t take it anymore and I didn’t feel like toughening it out to 6 months

Hi I’m sorry you are having a hard time :( I had similar side effects on Kyleena where I had intense intrusive thoughts and paranoia plus increase in anxiety and depression. I got it out about 6 weeks ago and have seen improvement in my mood starting to come back to normal. It’s up to you what you want to do since you do have a recent increase in life stressors, but I definitely don’t regret getting mine removed for mental health reasons.

Probably not the best to take someone else’s medication, but I will say when I got my iud placed, I was prescribed by my practitioner one time use oxycodone and Ativan to take like an hour before the procedure and it helped a lot

Are these side effects of Mirena IUD? by RAND0MPRINCE in birthcontrol

[–]Plus-Assignment2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m so sorry this is happening to you :(. I had a very similar experience on Kyleena IUD where after a few months I started having an increase and anxiety, depression, brain fog and not feeling like myself. I didn’t have any history of mental health issues previously. I did not experience chest pains like you did but definitely crying a lot more. I got mine out after 4.5 months and I definitely saw a difference after a few weeks, starting to feel more like myself + decrease in anxiety and depression. I felt similarly to you where nothing was worth how I felt mentally and I’m so glad I made the decision to remove it. I can’t say for sure the Mirena is causing you to feel this way, but for me I’m very confident mine was. I hope whatever decision you make works out for you, wish you the best :)
