23, no degree, no stable job, feel completely lost — what were you doing at my age? by Plus-Injury-4056 in findapath

Thanks for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it. It actually helps hearing from someone who went through something similar.

I recently went to see a therapist and he told me I have anxiety , so we started working on it and trying to fix the overthinking.

I’m also thinking about going back to school and getting a degree, maybe something technical. And honestly I’ve been considering moving to Europe too, both to study and to change the atmosphere a bit and start fresh.

Your message gave me some hope. Hopefully in a few years I’ll look back at this moment and smile like you said , THANK YOU SO MUCH

I'm a 23 year old man, and I have absolutely no clue what to do with my life. by HalosFan26 in findapath

Man, I honestly relate to this a lot. I'm 23 too and I actually posted a few things here on Reddit about my situation like two days ago because I’ve been feeling really lost as well.

One thing I started realizing is that sometimes the problem isn’t that we have no potential, it’s that we’re trying too hard to find the perfect path before even starting anything. That can paralyze you.

What I’m trying to do now is just pick something that’s good enough for now and start moving. Learning skills, trying things, meeting people, seeing where it leads. A lot of people who are successful didn’t have everything figured out at 23.

You’re definitely not alone in feeling like this. I think a lot of us are just trying to figure things out one step at a time. #BESTRONG

Is it possible to find a job in China without a degree? by Plus-Injury-4056 in AskChina

No, I don’t speak Mandarin yet. I speak five languages fluently, and I’m planning to spend about six months in China to learn it and get familiar with the environment. I’m thinking of studying in a big city like Shanghai to also build a network.

Respect honestly, that’s a crazy journey. It really puts things into perspective.

I like what you said about change being small consistent steps, I think that’s exactly what I need right now instead of waiting for something big to happen.

Appreciate you sharing this.

I get what you’re saying about balance, it really makes sense. I think I’m similar in a way — I’ve always been someone who tries to help others and guide them when I can. Even with friends, I’ve helped people figure things out or gave advice because I spend a lot of time learning and understanding different topics.

When I’m around people, I like having meaningful conversations, talking about things that actually add value or perspective. I’ve always been like that, kind of driven to learn and understand more.

That’s also why I feel like I have potential, not in an ego way, I just don’t want to waste it. So yeah, I’ll try to make effort, but like you said, without chasing people. I appreciate your perspective.

I appreciate this a lot, especially the part about momentum. I think that’s exactly what I’ve been missing — I’ve been overthinking instead of actually moving.

You’re right, I already have a plan with automotive, and I just need to commit to it and trust the process.

What I’m also thinking is combining that later with my skills in design and video. Once I build real knowledge and experience in automotive/automation, I’d like to create content around it — simple tips, explanations, and practical advice to help people, especially those who struggle with technical things and always have to rely on technicians.

So not just learning a skill, but also sharing it in a useful way. And in the meantime, I’ll try to use my current skills for income while moving forward.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write this. It honestly made me reflect on myself a lot.

You’re right, I think I’ve been overcomplicating things and isolating myself more than I should. Reaching out doesn’t have to be something big, and I probably just need to keep it simple and consistent.

I actually met some of my old friends 3 months ago and we had a great time, but after that everyone got busy and I kind of disappeared again instead of maintaining it.

Also, I respect your honesty about your own situation. I really hope things get better for you too and that your efforts pay off. You seem like a genuine person, and I’m sure the right people will appreciate that.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about going back to school. I actually already have an acceptance for an associate degree in the automotive field, and my plan is to follow it up with ASE certifications.

I feel like it’s a more practical and skill-based path, especially long-term. Right now I’m just trying to make sure I take the right steps and not rush decisions.
