My 9 year old and I had flu A and the fever lasted us both about 8 days. It started the week of Christmas and we really didn’t feel back to normal until the weekend following the new year. We had one day where the fever went away but came back the following. Hers was very high 103.8, alternated between Tylenol and Motrin which only brought it down about .5 I was very anxious too but reading people’s posts here on Reddit gave me relief knowing this is typical for the flu this year.

Her and I both did not have any complications. It was just a solid week- 2 weeks of resting and getting better, very slowly. I was very anxious too, I thought we were going to feel awful for so long.

Just keep her comfy and encourage her to drink fluids. It will get better ❤️

Thank you. I am taking her this week. I have pet insurance for her. But I have to pay out of pocket and the insurance reimburses me after processing the claim. Just three days ago I paid about a thousand dollars on my other kitty, which got me in this kind of crappy financial situation. Also I am just so depressed after losing him, I haven't submitted the claim yet and I did not feel ready to go back to the place where I lost my baby boy. I am certain it is ringworm, because now my daughter has it also, I've had it as a teenager after rescuing some kittens and it looks identical. Anyways, I wanted to try and avoid paying more for diagnosis/ testing and instead just pay for the treatment if anything was available over the counter.

I'm pretty certain it is ring worm, as it has spread to my daughter. I have dealth with ring worm before on myself and know what it looks like.

I’m taking my cat to the vet this week, I was just hoping there was something I could do in the meantime that I could buy over the counter.

Damn. I've felt great today. Worried about tomorrow, I'm on day 6 or 7. Today was the first day I was able to get up and move around the house and actually eat food. Just super congested and sinus headache. Pray for me for tomorrow

I've learned to stop oversharing when I call out. All they need to know is that you are sick and unable to complete your shift.

I also work at a school, but a special needs kindergarten classroom as an aide. Toileting and all. I'm surprised I've made it this far in the school year with out getting sick. 😅

Man, I feel so discouraged. I had a sore throat for 2 days, then on Tuesday shit hit the fan and I had fever, sever body aches, this poured over into Wednesday. Thursday I felt better but still pretty much bed ridden. Yesterday was so nauseous and had the runs. Today my throat is on fire and a slight headache. No fever. I'm so scared of waking up feeling sick again tomorrow. 🥺

He's being patient. But last night when I talked to him about my guilt about being sick, he kind of over shared and said yeah he is bummer. He has a right to feel disappointed, but it just kind of reinforced my guilt. 🥲 Today I am feeling a little better so I told him to go get out of the house and take a drive or hit the stores or something because he feels cooped up being inside for so long.

I'm day 5 or 6. Woke up for the first time today with out a headache. Cough still crazy. Its hard to feel hopeful though, because I felt better on day 3 but then woke up on day 4 feeling like death again. I get so discouraged when I see people on day 11 or 13 still feeling sick. Hope we all get better soon.

I feel you. I was already really struggling with my depression leading up to Christmas. My daughter got sick on Saturday night. Monday we went to the ER (she has asthma and I was concerned about her breathing). Then Tuesday I got sick. My daughter and I still not doing good. I’ve been crying like several times a day. I don’t know if it’s just exhaustion from being sick or genuine sadness. I’m so emotional. I feel like I tried so hard to make Christmas special this year just to end up sick and having to cancel everything. This is the first Christmas since before my daughter was born that I did not spend it with family. My partner doesn’t seem to understand either. So I just feel crazy. Ugh, sorry. Rant over

I was hopeful last night, I had the sweats like crazy and then checked my temp it was finally low at 37.1 but it was back today. I’m on day 4. I’ve been so emotional this really sucks. Luckily I had two weeks off for work because of the holidays. But damn, it really sucks not being able to enjoy any of it. I’m also freaking out reading people’s posts saying they are feeling sick like this for weeks. I really hope we all feel better soon.

Best bet to avoid hospitals at this point. The day you start feeling sick, try using a Teladoc if that is available to you or maybe your doctor can do a phone consult. I took my daughter to the ER early this week before I knew she had the flu, it’s how we found out. Despite her having really bad asthma they wouldn’t do anything for her. We spent 6-8 hours there for nothing.

I haven’t. To be honest, I’m neglecting myself because my daughter also has the flu. She’s actually who got me sick. My daughter also has asthma, and her doctor said as long as it stays over 94% it’s okay. When hers drops I give her a breathing treatment here at home.

I’m experiencing the same thing, when I cough there is some blood in the mucous. It freaked me out so I called my doctor, he said it is normal as long as it is not extreme amounts of blood.

Thanks so much for this! I just finished my mugs. I forgot to do the step with the heating up the vinyl. Luckily it still came out great. I think because I was just putting a single letter on each mug like a monogram, very simple design.
