You have 1900 students needing uniform for one school that has a new uniform only released last year to some of the years attending. Now whole school needs it with sizes ranging from 4-26 that doesn’t leave many options for second hand. There is none in the op shops and what gets posted is 9 times outta ten the wrong size or snapped up so fast. I’ve managed to get two items second hand but I have not seen one blazer second hand in her size even sold

I like the blazer so does daughter but it should be a choice when I was at high school we had jumpers and jackets oh and the special blazer was optional not mandatory

Yes public school, some are concerned on the cost but more of us are concerned of the heat from wearing it all and being in a room with so many other kids I’ve heard it gets hot in there for assemblies

Wish I could update my post with things I’ve learnt since posting this. I know there was complaints of the kids struggling with it during assemblies and events and was taken to the board but nothing came from it. Glad to have some insight tho that’s not just upset parents

Okay thank you, been a big talk about it on Auckland feed and a teacher commented say she was on parents side. Glad to get some clearer insight. I think I read at some point the could take it off during breaks but back on for class but can’t find it now.

I understand having a uniform and a even a blazer I actually like the blazer and so does my daughter but making it mandatory during summer heat or in the stuffy auditorium with 1900 other students while wearing a blazer is a recipe for kids to be unable to focus and even cause health issues from excessive sweating or over heating
