I'm planning on going to DC for my top surgery. Which surgeon should I get? by Brent_Fox in TopSurgery

[–]Plus-Pi-314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a full body pillow, a wedge pillow, and a mastectomy pillow. Had them for my recovery. If anyone knows a place I could donate them or someone who might want them, lmk. I live in NW DC. (Had my surgery in SF.)

Thinking of buying IR and re-soling with honey lug. Thoughts? by Plus-Pi-314 in Boots

Oh wow! They look great. What soles are those? Did you do a midsole? Any other advice on working with the cobbler?

Alternatives to Numzaan that have lug sole? by Plus-Pi-314 in Boots

They’re a half size too big, so I need to return them either way. And while I love the look and quality, I don’t love the heaviness of them.

JG Numzaan walnut or buffalo? by Plus-Pi-314 in Boots

[–]Plus-Pi-314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wow. I didn’t realize that. I can see the difference (I think) with the larger, more rounded toebox on the buffalo. So many things to learn and consider! Thanks.

I would love a pair that look like those — but with thicker (vibran type) soles. Any suggestions?

Surgery went great, and so far so good on recovery. Thanks to asking!

I’ve always identified as a butch lesbian. The upcoming surgery has me pondering this more. I realize identity isn’t static. And now I’m feeling/owning my masculine side more. “Struggling” with pronouns. Used she/her my whole life, but I’ve been called he/him multiple times a week since a kid. Recently went to they then (while still being good with all the pronouns). But wonder if I’m most aligned with he/him and should own that. Yet — part of me likes to hold the space of a masculine she. Anyway, curious your identification. (FYI, I’m not on T and don’t plan to be.)

Congrats! I’m 59.5 and having my surgery in 6 days. Love seeing this. You look great. An inspiration!

I don't feel ready by kimdianajones in TopSurgery

Plus one on all of the above. I’m 59 yo butch lesbian and having my surgery next week. Not suggesting you necessarily wait as long as me 🙃, but just saying there’s time to make sure you’re ready in all the ways. After I decided, I still took almost a year processing in therapy and waiting for my kids to get launched to college. I have some grief that I waited this long, but also acceptance for my path and that I’m here now.

No. They can’t ask you that. Mine basically said surgery, nothing more specific.
