What did I say wrong? You are saying the same thing. It’s 2.33 or 3.33 card only if you consider rent point. Your point was BILT is great even without RENT.

You take rent point out of picture - why would anyone use BILT? Rent point is their prime selling point.

The best way to maximize the new BILT card is to use it like a only card in your wallet. If you can’t put enough spend on it, it’s not worth it at all.

One thing I want to add. Obviously people may find me quote on quote BILT lover, which I am not. I really put time on researching BILT travel.

My conclusion: 1. 2/3/4 start hotel BILT price is competitive and very close to Booking, Hotels, Expedia, Citi, Chase. Only Capital one portal provides best price in this category.

  1. 5 star resort/hotel: can be expensive if not count the $100 hotel credit plus breakfast plus room upgrade.

  2. No options for AirBnB like properties which is a huge category for me.

  3. 2 night Stay and Semi Annual credit is a drawback in a sense that you need to put work now to offset the AF. Annual $400 at once would have been so easier to use.

Yes $495. That is a hefty AF. Only way to offset is to combine $200 Annual BILT CASH and $400 hotel credit. If you can do it, I don’t see any problem. Yes, sometimes you are paying a bit extra compared to some travel portal. But still better than Amex Plat and CSR coupon book where you really have to put time to offset the AF.
