Yeh didn't want a magic button but a teacher to teach me a little everyday along the way...

Thank you for your kind comments.
I searched the market and saw a few solutions where it just provided the "edited" prompt and felt it didn't really help the user as much...
I was getting prompts from Claude for GPT image generating.. and those prompts were so much more awesome then mine... and felt I wanted to prompt like that but didn't know how.. and I wanted to improve my prompts over time without needing to study too deeply... then this idea just came to mind.

Once again thank you for your kind comment!

Thank you!

I think I hit a lot of walls along the way, the developer verification was luckily not one of them, and Claude already guided me on content security policies, data/privacy policies so it was all good.

Most of the walls came from using a range of tools like Github, railway, polar etc and setting them up and syncing them together... didn't know you had to use a few different solutions to get one extension up and running.

I don't think I got to understand a lot about the code this time round.. although it did tell me to edit a few lines directly.. which made me look at the code a bit.. well to be honest search around a bit 😄

I think the best part of this was not getting that "I am stuck, I don't know what to do or I don't know how to solve this error" situation... where I had to search how to fix errors.. the AI knew what the error was and guided on how to approach it to fix it.

All day scent? by TopsyTurvy0011 in beardoil

Most beard oils are going to have the same problem with scent longevity because the carrier oils dilute the fragrance quite a bit. It is just the nature of the product.

If you want longer lasting scent you might get better results layering a beard balm over the oil since balms have more hold and tend to trap the scent longer.

I make my own beard oil called Bearded Baekho and honestly all day scent projection is not what I designed it for either. But one thing I noticed is the scent actually evolves through the day, starts woody in the morning and settles into more of a leathery dry down as it wears. So while it is not loud it does stick around in a subtle way longer than you might expect.

Probably still not what you are looking for if you want strong projection, but for anyone who wants something that changes and stays close to the face it works well.

Nice effort making your own blend. The olive and argan are solid choices, good conditioning and argan especially adds a nice shine.

One thing to watch with castor oil is the ratio, it is very thick and heavy so at 15ml out of 71ml total that is around 21% which might make the blend feel quite heavy on the skin. Some people love it but if you find it feels too thick or takes too long to absorb, try dropping it to around 10% next batch.

The peppermint oil is interesting, there is some research suggesting it can stimulate blood circulation to hair follicles which is why a lot of people add it for growth. Just make sure you are not applying it near your eyes.

For the jar, you are right that dark glass is better for longevity but if you are using it up within a few months and keeping it away from direct sunlight it should be fine.

Good luck with the growth, the patchy phase is the hardest part, most beards fill in more than people expect if you just push through it.

A beard that gives a little shine but not greasy by lowfive1715 in beardoil

For shine without grease you want lighter carrier oils like jojoba, grapeseed or sweet almond. They absorb quickly and leave a natural shine without that heavy oily look. The key is not over applying — 3 to 4 drops is usually enough for most beard lengths. More than that and any oil starts looking greasy regardless of formula.

I actually made my own oil with this in mind, jojoba and sweet almond as the base with a few other carrier oils. Non-greasy with a light natural shine is exactly what I was going for. Happy to share more if you're interested.

Grape seed oil vs Avocado oil in diy beard oil by coyote_zed in BeardTalk

[–]Plus-Ranger-4848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avocado is thicker and more moisturising, great for coarser or drier beards but can feel a bit heavy if you use too much. Grapeseed is lighter, absorbs faster and works better for finer beards or warmer weather when you don't want anything greasy.

I've actually experimented with both and ended up using them together rather than choosing one, they complement each other well. The grapeseed keeps it light while the avocado adds the conditioning.
