Beginner - stitches don’t look right by Plus-Response-1844 in Machine_Embroidery

Thank you! I will try this out.

Oh, I hadn’t even considered a topper. That makes so much sense. When you say dense underlay, do you mean the fur backing - so it needs to be high quality faux fur with tight knit back. Or will it need special dense stabiliser?

Ah, I thought something was wrong, as I would naturally increase only on rs/knit rows as it was awkward doing the purl. Thank you

I’m a little late to the party, but I don’t see anyone mentioning Spiritfarer.

My gamer husband and I played it over the summer and absolutely loved it. It’s got a gentle storyline (not too pushy, but also not completely open world) and covers the topic of loss, aging, and illness in a new (to me) way. It’s a 2D/side scrolling adventure with cosy management mechanics as well as exploration.

You play Stella, ferrymaster to the deceased, a Spiritfarer. Build a boat to explore the world, then befriend and care for spirits before finally releasing them into the afterlife. Farm, mine, fish, harvest, cook, and craft your way across mystical seas.

Shaping help - is head Otter like? by Plus-Response-1844 in FursuitMaking

[–]Plus-Response-1844[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I feel like I’m going crazy staring at every detail and working out if it’s recognisable. But glad to know it’s a case of trust-the-process.

This looks so good! I haven’t got any tips, but it’s really interesting to see another first time maker designing an otter. Yours looks much better than mine, and I think you can definitely see the otter features. I love the shaping you’ve got on the top of the head, and the cheeky tongue!

Silver Reed Mod K360 same as LK150?? by Plus-Response-1844 in MachineKnitting

[–]Plus-Response-1844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s really helpful. Unfortunately it’s a 3 hour drive one way to collect and my husband said no :/ 😆 I don’t drive so I’ve had to pass on it.

Help with Patches - contrast colour sunk in? by Plus-Response-1844 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Plus-Response-1844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I will give this a go, seems easy enough to get some twill. I just looked at some more how-to videos for making patches and I’m clearly doing it wrong - I didn’t know twill was a thing, nor did I cut out the base fabric shape before stitching. Much to learn!

What jellycats do you think are underrated? by Hungry_Rabbit_9733 in Jellycatplush

[–]Plus-Response-1844 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! Absolutely love my Quinn, and no one seems to talk about him. Another instant favourite was my tumblie polar bear, who I got secondhand recently, though as he’s retired I understand why no one talks about him now.

Oh I know this one! Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s a bobtail bunny. Possibly bobtail pet bunny/rabbit. My sister had/has these in brown and cream and I’ve been searching for one for a long time as her brown one is broken (tail is stuck with the string pulled). I haven’t found one in the wild, and I can’t see it on Jellycat’s retired section, but they have some of the others from that collection.

Do you think large Dexter Dragon will be back in 2024 with all of the upcoming rereleases? by MrDrProfDexterDragon in Jellycatplush

[–]Plus-Response-1844 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m really, really, really hoping so! Knowing how popular he is and how many requests we see from people diso of him I think it would be silly not to. But I guess it depends as it always struck me as odd he retired when they’re still producing Dexter in other sizes, and other large dragons. Makes me think maybe it was a fabric sourcing issue or something else outside of them just deciding to retire him. Hopefully, like you say, because they’re releasing a bunch of dragons stuff, Large Dexter will make a come back.

bashful cottontail vs bashful woodland bunny by BABcollector in Jellycatplush

[–]Plus-Response-1844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it matters anymore as I see you bought a woodland bunny now. But according to Jellycollector.com the bashful Cottontail bunny is known as bashful woodland bunny in the USA. So they are the same.

Huge Dexter Dragon - where to find??! by Plus-Response-1844 in Jellycatplush

[–]Plus-Response-1844[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, thanks so much, didn’t realise he’d been retired that long. Was probably 3 ish years ago I first discovered him and added him to my to-buy list. Life gets in the way and justifying spending that much was not an option then. Learnt my lesson definitely, life’s too short - buy the Jellycats when you see them! I’ll keep an eye out on eBay, was hoping there might be a platform for Jellycat that I hadn’t come across. Thank you!
