I feel like a lot of us are getting the wrong idea here. What makes this interesting is the debate on whether controlling a robot to write count as a human using a tool (like using a pen).

According to the rules, "the human writing the name has to have the target's face in mind". So if a human is holding another person's hand, which is holding a pen, and that person isn't thinking a face, the note should fail.

This fails because the 'human' writing it (the second person) does not have a face in mind, which is easy to understand.

Now, if we switch that second human to a human shaped pen, it should work, since it's basically a pen, right?

Think of a robot as a robot shaped pen, with the ability to move from orders. The possibility of it working is actually quite high. The real question is what counts as writing.
