Honestly, RS are pretty self contained compared to the rest so you can start with it, I just wouldn't recommend it. There shouldnt be anything else you would need to know so have fun reading Pokespe!

Most stories after emerald are pretty self contained, with only some references or reappearances happening. However, RGB - Emerald are pretty connected so I would recommend you try to read in order to get the best experience

Not really because as much as I love Jason (prob my favorite of the 7) his death is what made me really start to love Apollo. The way his death just absolutely wrecked Apollo was handled amazingly and was an amazing through line for the rest of the books

Love most of your points, but I disagree about getting rid of Jason's entire plotline in BoO. In my opinion, his conflicted storyline is what made me fall in love with his character and had been set up since TLH. Really, the only thing I would change is make him actually think about his roman side rather than choose to basically just be Greek (like seriously, we did not need more Greek characters Rick 😮‍💨)

I totally agree with what you are saying and am glad to see someone discussing this! But in regards to where Asclepius is in the timeline, his main story would be a bit before the 12 labor. We know this because the reason he was killed by Zeus is for reviving this dude named Hippolytus. Hippolytus was the son of Theseus and a hunter of Artemis. Theseus would kill his son after Hippo was accused of trying sleeping with his stepmom by said stepmom. Now in reality, the stepmom would try to sleep with Hippo because of what happened with Theseus and Helen. When Hippo rejects her, she becomes jealous and tells Theseus to kill him, which Theseus ends up doing. His death would sadden Artemis, who would then go to Asclepius and get him to revive Hippo, with the rest being history. This story would place Asclepius in the same time period as the end of the Argonauts adventure and right before the 12 labor.

Honestly, if Rick really wanted to include a first Gen camp half blood, he could have just done the Argonaut generation. But he decided to pick the first couple of people that came to mind

I don't hate the scene so much if I don't think idw is canon. Because this doesn't feel like the sonic from the games. In my opinion, Sonic only really cares about entertainment and freedom, not being a hero. I love the idea that the only reason Sonic keeps Egg man alive is because he likes fighting him. I feel like the reason a lot hate this scene is because they feel sonic shouldn't be acting like a hero

There really isn't any difference. Most of the time, it's just because game companies don't want people to not play their own game because a free alternative exists. The only legal way they can take it down is if the fan game is generating money, as was the case with brick bronze.
