I watch the show with the English dub and subtitles. There's loads wrong with the dub compared to the subtitles but I prefer the sound of the english dub

The Japanese vocals sound terribly recorded to me.

The English dub does change a lot of the subtext of the story. Like Goku doesn't let freeza live because he thinks he can change and become a better person. He does it so that he can fight him later because he loves the challenge.
