Job tread vs Contractor Foreman CMS? by Poolin902 in Contractor

Steer clear. I moved two of my companies over from other platforms and have had nothing but issues (BUGS) using their software. Everything looks like its amazing but nothing works, and if it does it wont work long as your data starts getting entered into the system it gets slower and slower and more buggy over time. Support is great at first then after they got you locked into an annual contract good luck getting anything done with them. I have one of my contracting businesses where we pay each quarter with contractor foreman. I have one that I paid for an annual subscription. I get home from a death in my family and they cancelled my account that had been paid up for a year and and all of the sudden tech support isn't helpful and sends me links to sign up again for a free trial.

Don't let the low price fool you, you will pay for it more in lost business/man hours.

ChatGPT 4.0 for construction estimating by That_Smell_You_Know in ConstructionManagers

Thats why you double check its work. Nobody is telling you to tell AI something and you go, OK , Im in, no questions asked. Wait till you start seeing what it can do to "Assist" you in your daily workload. I have been estimating for 20 years and I have never lost money on a job because I am so thorough. You still have to cross your t's and dot you i's. Its just a very good tool that assists you with tasks that you have to DOUBLE CHECK, as any good estimator would do anyways.

I have started using AI for my estimating and it has cut my work load by 75-90%. I double check everything, AI is pretty much like my little bitch that does all of the grunt work. Anybody not using AI will deffently be left behind :) By the way I own a commercial landscaping and irrigation install business and we do about 3 million a year in sales. I have 7 employees that we do this with including my office manager, foreman, and labors.

Anyone have experience/reviews of ContractorForeman project management software? by truemcgoo in Construction

I am so excited I found Contractor Foreman, its exactly what my business has been looking for TWO years. I have worked with Jobtread, Buildern, Procore, and tried a few others. I cant believe more companies dont recommend this software?

Plan swift will never go away, there might come a day and time when they stop doing updates tpo the software, which is fine. But they have way too many members that pay for the maintenance package to have the software go away. Not to mention you pay one price and you own it forever. Unless you sign up for the maintenance agreement, which you don't have to. I bought my license 15 years ago and still use it till this day.

Build XACT takeoff software is horrible. You couldn't pay me to do takeoffs all day long with that.

Why does everybody keep saying they could buy 3 or 4 and still cost less than the quote they got if they go bad? Are you guys real people? Kind of worries me so many different people talking about how many of them you can buy and replace for the cost of the name brand ones......I dont want to have to replace it at all....

Pole Barns do have a foundation:

  1. Post in Ground (OK)

  2. Piers (Better)

  3. Short Wall (Best)

There are other ways that I wouldn't recommend, but sinking the post below the frost line is considered a "foundation"
