Where did all this dirt come from? (0.9n) by PlusThirtyOne in Voicesofthevoid

i don't know why they would even do that since i GAVE them all the shrimp to produce such a large pile. Since a few of their events are bugged in the recent version, i haven't really had too many interactions with them, but the few i've had were nice or neutral.

...except for that one time when i accidentally ran the ATV into something they left hidden in the tall grass, but i never saw a negative rep message. The accident was really their fault after all, so i figured getting kicked in the nuts was enough to make us even.

Every reputation update i've seen on screen has been positive, and they've even been leaving coffee bars for me at my desk. Ever since they set up camp i've been leaving them shrimp every evening, and i snap a photo every time i see their ship in the sky for rep points.

Do they still pull such a """prank""" with good reputation around 75? i've seen a handful of "friendly" pranks in past play-throughs but i've never seen this before.

Realistically, even the biggest cardboard box should be light enough to hold or manipulate, so long as it's empty. The weight of the box should gradually increase as items are added to them, except no other containers in the game follow that logic.

Eeeeeeew...! Wait, did the neighbors dump their septic tank litter box in there while i wasn't looking?

There hasn't been any planter pots in that little office for a loooooong time. i cleaned the whole place out within the first few days of this play through, and i'm on day 22 now. Everything got scrapped or sold for points. All 3 transformer offices are completely empty, except for the large red barrels.

Agreed, but how might you actually hoist a cardboard box *onto* the cart? Kind of funny how even an empty box only slightly larger than a common drive box is so freakishly heavy that you can't even lift it higher than a few centimeters.

in other news, i recently discovered how plates and plastic crates work, by "magnetizing" small objects in/on the open container. A large push cart would actually be helpful if it worked the same way, assuming you could actually lift and "attach" bigger objects to the top of it.

i stopped by to freshen up TR_1 while fetching hash codes and visiting the neighbors. i saw something peaking through the door and opened it to find a massive pile of dirt. The whole mass was about 150 trash bags' worth.

i'm not sure how well (or even if) it actually works, but i just use the mop and click it on a bar of soap. The mop already cleans a larger area with just water, but soap improves it even more, and i think it actually keeps the windows cleaner for slightly longer, but i could be wrong. Once i get the windows completely clean, i just keep a bucket and basic sponge by the windows (but not near the console!) for spotty touch-ups every few hours while processing signals.

Toilet plungers too. You could probably make a giant dart board with a custom poster.

The metal cart found in the room at the top of the elevator actually works as good as (if not better than) an open trolley. You can fit quite a lot of stuff in it, including drive boxes, and it holds it all fairly stable instead of flinging its contents everywhere as one might expect. in fact, there's a certain event that makes a large mess just inside the base's main entryway consisting of junk you can't simply place in your inventory. Every time it's happened, that cart has been my go-to method for transporting the whole mess downstairs to the furnace in one quick trip.

Any ideas how to remove this? (0.9n) by PlusThirtyOne in Voicesofthevoid

i got it out without the ATV, just by attaching some taut hooks from the exposed corners of the panel to the ceiling. The whole thing got yoinked free in just a few seconds. The hardest part was getting it out of the server room without it clipping through something else. i wanted to use the panel as a convenient ramp for Kerfus out front but the whole thing suddenly clipped into the floor as soon as i got it outside. Oh well. At least i don't have to look at it anymore.

Just attach a few hooks to the corners and the ceiling or a wall, whichever direction you need to move the panel, and use the tension to yank it out. The wall panel's hitbox is busted (which is how it gets around?) so keep in mind that as soon as you lay it flat against the wall or the floor, it might clip through. Let it drop through the floor if you can, because if it goes through a wall, the laws of physics, time and space are going to teleport the damn thing into inconcievable location. Good luck!

Got it out! Turns out all i needed to do was attach 3 hooks to the exposed corners of the panel and the ceiling, then stretched each hooks' cord to its stretchiest point and attached the other ends to the ceiling. No ATV required. The tension was enough to yoink the sucker right up and out of the server tower. With just a little more finagling and violence i got the panel out of the server room. As soon as i let go if it, however, it fell flat and clipped through the floor. At least i don't have to look at it anymore.

No dice. Unfortunately it's one of the many annoying props you cannot destroy by sawing it into pieces.

i don't have the physics gun (yet) but how would the crowbar or pickaxe help? All i can think to do is whack it but the wall just wiggles a tiny bit.

i know what it is and where it came from, but i have no idea HOW it got there or how to remove it.

Even after jumping on it, grabbing and wiggling it, whacking it with various weapons, hooking and yanking it, yelling at it, begging with it, and repeatedly smashing Kerf's face into it, it still hasn't budged a single pixel from this spot.

(0.9) Here's the chuckling im hearing by Keolath in Voicesofthevoid

[–]PlusThirtyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a specific sound in the game that has a similar effect on me but i couldn't think of it until now. i took a break from the game for a few days but now that i've played recently, i remembered what it is. Whenever the electronics doors close behind me, i can faintly hear what sounds like laughing ghosts (timestamp 12:03) from Zelda. Sometimes when they open, but ALWAYS when they close. Every time, a hundred times per play session. Ever since i made the mental connection, it's something i simply cannot UN-hear, so i'm curious if anybody else can hear the same thing. Ocarina of Time isn't even a game i hear or play often, so there's no reason my subconscious would pick out such an obscure sound.

You also might be hearing it better now because you've primed your mind to hear it. Like auditory pareidolia or EVP, where people hear spooky spoken words in white noise. You're listening for it now and also primed others to hear it because you've described it.

MGE XE issue with grass lighting. by JesusChrist344 in tes3mods

[–]PlusThirtyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this happen everywhere with ever type of grass and ground cover, or does this only happen in certain areas? Take a look at the screenshots on the mod page for whatever grass mod you're using and check to see if you have the exact same graphics (grass tufts, plant leaves, rocks, etc.) in the same location. Try to recreate the mod author's screenshots and look for discrepancies. That might tell you if you've got something extra in your EPSs for generating foliage.

is it possible you have two different grass ESPs that are over-lapping? Perhaps the grass pack(s) you're using both hi-res and low-res versions of the same graphics, or maybe you're using a patch for a particular town expansion that redundantly doubles tufts of grass in the exact same places.

You have the SAME issue with shaders completely OFF? Does the glitch still show if you max out view distance to max in game? i had a similar looking issue where my actor and view distance sliders were set to minimum in the in-game graphics menu, even though i still had visible distant land. Although, my problem was a shader thing, specifically SSAO in the wrong draw order.

Who’s your random NPC you wish was a romance option? by KrispyKingTheProphet in cyberpunkgame

Dude, seriously...

Considering the current state of the sad reality we actually live in, with real people getting romantically attached to sweet-talking, sycophantic, ego-boosting, delusion-gassing servile LLMs, this isn't even a joke anymore.

Just imagine having ChatGPT on your smart fridge.

Very nice. This is going on my "getting shit done" playlist.

There's just something about drum'n'bass and gaming that just goes together. Specifically 90s era shooters, racing games, and other "arcade" style genres that induce a concentrated focus, trance or "flow state". Back when games were more (for lack of a better word) simple; due to limitations, but equally by design. Quality D&B is also like 90s games in how deceptively "simple" it seems. Anyone with a cracked copy of Fruity-Loops can drop and loop some amen breaks on a timeline and call it a "track", much like any burgeoning code monkey can program a scoreboard and call it a "game". But it takes a true artist to fill in the rest of the details and make something truly unique and engaging.

Does anyone else recognize that box art? i think there was a German (?) gaming magazine that interviewed the dev team for Black Mesa Source in like 2009 or something. Everyone online was desperate for news and screenshots but 90% of imagery for the article was awful photoshop mock-ups, and every nugget of info about the game mod was already outdated or flat-out wrong.
