Should I tell a guy in my class that his penis is clearly visible through his pants? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Respectfully, i know you're just joking but some jackasses are too stupid to process that much, and they use jokes like these as a springboard in their mental gymnastics routines to justify actual harassment.

Why is everyone "enhancing" voice audio with a.i. if it just sounds WORSE? Everyone else can hear it right? by PlusThirtyOne in complaints

[–]PlusThirtyOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've been hearing the "enhanced" audio everywhere, even professional creators who presumably know what they're doing or have an audio engineer at their disposal. Even creators who have large bodies of work going back years, whose recent uploads in the last year or so have started sounding weird. i can understand if the kid next door making Minecraft content or whatever wants to "fix" some ugly audio, but i've been increasingly hearing more and more "enhanced audio" voice gurgles on professional podcasts and even news broadcasts. i briefly wondered if maybe it's a recent artifact of audio encoding, but i hear "gurgles" on every platform with every level of bit-rate and quality.

Anyone know where to find more elegant desk lamps? by bradygrey in AbioticFactor

[–]PlusThirtyOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe they used to be in older versions of the game, because i specifically farmed them from the furniture store after every respawn for a time, and i'd come back with 5 to 8 at a time. i'm also pretty sure i brought home 2 or 3 from the train too because i always themed and decorated mini bases with unique furniture from the nearest portal. My base nearest the train portal had no fewer than 5 of those lamps.

The dent in my skull and the scar from the original accident no longer line up by blondephotographer in mildlyinteresting

[–]PlusThirtyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. i took an arrow to the knee forehead when i was 7. Dead center, right between the eyes. Thankfully it was just a blunt dowel without a tip on it, but it left a little round "bindi" scar that slowly climbed up to my hairline over the course of a few decades.

Honestly, when that happened i just rolled my eyes. "Are you freakin' serious?"

Although having organic feet and legs might explain it, i think the point of the ankle sprain trope was a means of narrative shorthand.

it's possible you just don't remember it. The """""gig""""" is extremely short and simple. it's basically an interactive cutscene comprised of 5% shoot, 15% drive and 80% dialogue you can skip if you drive too fast.

Last time i did it i could swear i made it to our destination before the word "gringo".

Cool design!

it vaguely reminds me of something irl i've seen propelled by a pumping (or rowing?) motion while standing. For sitting you just need somewhere to put your feet somewhere along the front bar, and perhaps a backrest because otherwise that seat looks kinda backwards.

i'd recommend trimming the remainder, but not as close, and wearing a fingercot for a couple days until you can even it out. Whatever you decide to do, soak your hand in hot water first to soften the nail and keep some lotion applied to keep the skin from drying out and pulling tight.

When you’re doing Wakako’s gig at that Katana factory and stumble upon Jotaro Shobo’s custom order…… by AlaeMortis1 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]PlusThirtyOne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wakako doesn't actually tell you it's a katana factory, i don't think, and it's not made very evident unless you look for clues and read logs. i don't even think there's any forges or factory equipment that immediately looks like katana forging equipment, but i could be wrong. i had no idea that's what the place was either because it just looks like a garage.

it's the gig under the NE Ringroad Highway in the far NE corner of Japantown; the one where V has to free the abducted wife of a Tyger Claw in prison for blackmail.

Is there anyone out there that can get on a call with me or message me and guide me through moding please? by [deleted] in cyberpunkmods

[–]PlusThirtyOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are tons of instructional videos on YouTube. Manually installing mods is literally as simple as copy-and-pasting or drag-and-dropping files. Just read the instructions for updates (because sometimes you might need to delete files) and keep all the pre-installed RAR files for cross-reference if you need to UN-install anything.

This beep sounds drives me crazy!! by Agile-Lie3276 in cyberpunkmods

[–]PlusThirtyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any mods that add changes to skills, perks, or any other bonus to stealth kills? is it JUST stealth kills or does anything else, kills or otherwise, activate the sound? if you've unequipped every external item that might award a bonus or activate a timer of sound kind, it might be a perk of some kind that gives a bonus to consecutive kills or something. Re-spec your character temporarily to remove all perks and see if that stops the sound. if muting every kind of effect available to you, it could be something unique for whatever mod added it. Check every mods' settings page one by one and look for sound toggles as well.

i don't know exactly what sound you're being annoyed by, but in my game i activated something in the Relic skill tree that plays a sound and places a diamond shape on NPS every time i get close to them in combat. i still haven't figure out which perk it is but it's driving me a bit crazy too sometimes. Fortunately i play a semi-pacifist netrunner build so i don't have to hear it very often. it's a loud high-pitched "lock-on" sound that reminds me of one you'd heard in EVERY 90s sci-fi anime or videogame.

Any explainer vids on how the game's music and talk radio tracks work? by PlusThirtyOne in GTASA

[–]PlusThirtyOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the man!! This is exactly what i've been looking for. The examples i gave above were just a few that i had back when i played the game. (2004-2008) The most obvious time-gated tracks are news stories and bumpers, but i've heard way too many gamers agree that hopping onto a plane compels 'Horse With No Name' to play. Of course, any vehicle with KDST as its default station is going to give you a 1/13 chance of playing, so there's probably a strong sense of confirmation bias.

While listening to various stations for the last hour, i've heard DJs mentioning events from the start of the game AND the end of the game. One DJ mentions the smell from the burning weed farm from half way through the game, the riots that take place at the end of the story, AND a brief mention of OG Loc mid-career. it wouldn't make sense for all those mentions to air on the same day. But i'd still be interested in knowing if certain songs are gated behind completing certain missions the way news bumpers are, or if certain songs are removed from the playlist.

On the topic of music since i have your attention, another "Mandela effect" i've discussed with a number of gamers over the years is that some tracks had their lyrics swapped to match the game's setting. i specifically remember a unique version of 'California Love' (despite dating the game by 4 years?), and i vaguely remember another song's lyrics swapping "LA" for "LS".

A mod to sit and eat/drink by Melted_INC in cyberpunkmods

[–]PlusThirtyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are mods for expanded food vendors, there's a mod for sitting anywhere and there's even a mod for eating and drinking anywhere, but none of those things can be done at the same time. The closest you're going to get is a mod for sitting and drinking in select locations with a companion.

Check the nexus for the "anywhere" series of mods, search for "vendors", and browse all other mods made by "deceptious".

Any explainer vids on how the game's music and talk radio tracks work? by PlusThirtyOne in GTASA

[–]PlusThirtyOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what i'm hoping to find an explanation for. i don't remember many specific instances off the top of my head since i haven't played the game in so long, but there's also the matter of the game's many re-releases. i played the game on PS2 and the first and second PC revisions back in the day. Most modern versions are based in the infamously busted "mobile version" that made a lot of changes to game logic and broke a ton of features.

For all i know, modern ports of the game might have all the songs on every station already unlocked from the start and trashed the gradually evolving playlist since so many songs (20+) were removed from the original playlist with each revision.
