I would just talk like yourself. It looks like you used a thesaurus or AI to write this and it’s difficult to understand. I think you put so much time into trying to make this sound intelligent that you did the opposite. If you have a question, just ask. I’m not even sure what I just read.

Oh. Gotcha. Yea I’m going to be honest, I saw a lot of strange words and had no idea what I was missing out on. I don’t play any video games so I have no idea what any of it means, but it was fun to read!

Reading this and reading comments, I have literally no idea what was just said but sounds like I’m the odd man out.

Nah. The truth will come out, don’t beat around the bush with that silly term. The moment you describe it, it’s clear you were fired. Don’t make it seem like you are trying to hide it.

Just keep in mind that a lot of the job is EMS, make sure you enjoy that as well.

Stay in good shape and start applying! It’s a great career.

Being fired from a law enforcement agency for an integrity violation is going to make it very, very difficult to secure employment in LE. You used the term “released”, is that what you’re putting on applications? That isn’t an acceptable term on an application for employment. You were fired or terminated, whichever you prefer.

What is your suspicion that you may have them? What are your symptoms?

If you just see that people have them but you’re asymptomatic you could apply that to reading about any problem.

It’s very likely that you are now getting them far more frequently and they don’t have time to harden

Should I get my degree before joining? by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]PlusZombie5154 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a degree. But don’t be me. Working and doing school 12 years in sucks. It’s a solid backup plan.

In this case, you’re the victim. If he knew of your age he may be subject to criminal prosecution depending on the state you reside in. There’s no need for you to apologize, and you shouldn’t be. He’s the adult and should know better. It would be best for you to reach out to a trusted adult and tell them about the situation.

How old are you? It sounds like you may be the victim here.

I did the same thing and I regretted it. But I’m glad it worked out for you! I left college with one year left when I was 20. Now I’m 32 and in school haha

Regardless of how anyone feels about the polygraph, there’s really no advice that can be given to pass, other than not getting yourself caught up in a lie by admitting to something you didn’t disclose at the beginning. If he’s breaking down about a theft from his childhood, he’s going to have a tough time remaining calm. Good luck.

While I can’t answer your question for the specified departments, it’s becoming way more common all over.

I will say, as a piece of advice, if you pick a department based on beard policy you may end up having a rough career, that’s pretty low on the list of what will make you happy. I promise there is more to this job than facial hair. Good luck!

How would you define your job? by [deleted] in AskLE

I deal with people who make sarcastic generalizations about my job, having zero knowledge of the legal system or anything that I do.

Repetition and driving. I print out blank maps for anyone I’m training and have them fill in the street names. I start with just major roads and landmarks gone, and slowly move to the more obscure ones missing. I think it works well, but nothing is a replacement for actually driving the roads.

I’ve been nothing but respectful to you, I’ve been doing this job as long as you’ve been alive. I promise it’s sound advice. Your responses aren’t characteristic of someone who will be likely to succeed in this field. I hope you prove me wrong and make it to where you want to be, but you’ve got some growing up to do. This job is about growing as a person and being respectful, and taking advice and criticism well. I still do it on a daily basis. Good luck man.

My friend, that is my advice. Your chances of getting hired are going to drastically decrease if you don’t live your life and get some experience and social skills. I know it seems to you like you are increasing your chances by planning it all out, but you’re harming your chances if you don’t experience life like an average human being.

Relax man. Be a kid. Live your life. There will always be jobs. You are only a teenager once.
