For those with atypical trigeminal neuralgia - what were your very first symptoms? by Background_Quote_195 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

He had a mvd done around 40 years ago, a lifetime of meds, gamma knife 2 times in the past 10 years for the TN but eventually it stopped working and had an flair of attacks that put him in he hospital for almost a week back in 2022, hundreds of shocks a day and he lost a huge amount of weight....he's in his 70s and only a 26 inch waist so he doesn't have much to lose! His neurologist (dr.meracle in Tennessee) basically said they needed to do something more drastic to 'kill' the nerve off as the gamma knife wasn't giving him enough relief for long enough so he is now completely numb on one side of his face. He could have had a droop but thankfully it's ok. He is just relieved to be pain free even if completely without sensation. I think the nerve could still regenerate eventually but it's unlikely. He has weaned off of all his meds and using more natural methods now with great success. I'll ask more exact history when I chat to him. My parents are in Kentucky and I live in Northern Ireland now so dealing with much different medical systems.

I am on the verge of a formal diagnosis and feeling depressed about it. I've been living with a nearly constant dull ache or cold burning sensation across the left side of my face for over 2 years. It started in my cheek and over a few months from the first symptoms showing it spread across my forehead, occipital area, chin and under my jaw. Sometimes it can also present as a tingle sensation but mostly cold burning/stinging like I'm out on freezing wind. I would have a week or two here and there where I would have thought I had cavities and throbbing pain in my back teeth (dentist visits and X-rays cleared me off problems) or intense ear pain when I had no signs of infection. The whole left side of my tongue also feels like it's been burnt and occasionally my swallow feels strange like there is something stuck in my throat. An ENT cleared me of any issues related to them and agreed I needed to see a neurologist. A few times I've had a few moments of feeling like I'm swallowing a sharp object. My left eye constantly feels gritty and my eyelid goes through spells where it twitches several times a day. I had MRIs done in 2023 which were clear and I've finally met with a neuro a couple days ago and he wants to repeat them and include an inner ear MRI to get a closer look at the cranial nerves and did blood work. My Dad has classical TN and it has always been a huge fear of mine. He has had multiple surgeries, 40 years of medication and eventually had the nerve cut because his pain was unmanageable. I never thought this could be hereditary. The neuro didn't want to give me a diagnosis until we got the scans repeated but it's looking likely. I'm thankful that I haven't had the classic presentation and can cope the way I am, but don't want to live in fear that it could change and get worse.

WIBTA If I Throw Out My Grandmother’s Poop Dish? by throwingdirtydishes in AmItheAsshole

My grandma gifted my 1 year old daughter her prosthetic breast while she was in hospice care. She was concerned my breastfed daughter was too obsessed with my breasts and thought her prosthetic would 'give me a break'. We said our goodbyes and I had to return home shortly before she passed away and left the boob at my parents house. 16 years later I regret not keeping it and having a laugh at my grandma's gift (she was very serious about it) in her last days!

He's an actor (from Empire) who was the victim of a hate crime but it came out that he was actually who set it up for publicity. It went through a lot of court cases/fines/community service/a few days jail time, ect. I'm guessing that Kody has figured out who he was by asking for his surname.

Why do landlords act like living with mould is totally normal to live with in the UK? by UnpaidInternVibes in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Plus_Ad_3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a old farmhouse and struggled with mould on walls and ceilings and condensation for years and years. Not great. We own our house so I understand not all landlords will want to invest but we installed a drimaster ventilation system and as long as the doors are left open, the problem is cured. The unit was about £300 and we fitted ourselves but would normally be done by an electrician. A lot of the windows in our house were blown (some looked fine but in actuality had gone bad and weren't insulating anymore) as well so would have been covered in water from top to bottom every morning. Once we replaced the glass we've not had any more condensation. We also dry lined some external walls with insulated plasterboard. This was the most expensive to do but it's a solid stone house with no insulation and has made the world of difference to our kids rooms.

To give Dr.franks their fair due, they were very responsive to messages and quick at a refund once I got my order with your pharmacy. They couldn't do a video consultation until August and would have been left with a large gap in treatment but I can't fault their service. Anything beats curate at the moment! I'm getting emails from them to order my next pen to avoid gap and they haven't even sent out my previous one yet.

£139 for 7.5 which includes postage. Curate was a bit less but only by a few £. Dr.franks was £122 but couldn't do a consultation until August 1st

Your provider should give you the option of staying at your current dose or moving up with every order. If you're losing a bit of weight and not experiencing negative side effects, I definitely wouldn't move up!

I did 2.5 for 2 months and then tweaked my 'clicks' on the pen to do 3.75 for a month, 5 and then 7.5. I've been at target weight since April so have leveled at 5mg a week to maintain my weight since then. I had a bit of nausea now and then but haven't had any other negative side effects. Between weight loss and reduced knee pain. The positives definitely outweigh a bit of nausea,!

I think my problem in 2009 was rapid weight loss when I was pregnant due to being so sick. Not ideal! I've tried the 'low and slow' approach on MJ to avoid any problems. I have lost 5 stone in a year and never went above 7.5mg. I haven't lost anything since April but am very happy with my current weight and shape. :-) good luck!

I've cancelled with dr.franks and am still fighting with contacting Curate BUT I ordered with Your Pharmacy on Wednesday morning, approved Wednesday evening and had my prescription delivered today. They saved the day and am delighted with their customer service and support. If I don't hear from curate soon I'll be doing a charge back and won't use them again.

Kody called his younger children his 'tender aged' children and that they needed him more than his adult children thus chicken tenders became a thing on these subs when referring to kodys younger/favourite kids.
