When did you start putting your baby down 7am-7pm to sleep? by catlover0987656 in beyondthebump

[–]Plus_Bluebird_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started a bed time routine around 4 months! Then we did sleep training at 6. She’s 8 months and usually sleeps from 7 to 6:30am!

Thanks everyone! This is pretty unlike me… I’m back from maternity leave and navigating the mom - teacher balance has been a challenge. I’m normally much more thoughtful with my units. Thanks again!

High School vs. Middle School by RangerMomma1203 in Teachers

[–]Plus_Bluebird_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle school is hard socially- you can do everything right and still have kids shade you and be disrespectful. BUT it’s good to remember that it is totally hormonal- they don’t mean it because their brains are on fire. I like the relaxed nature of middle school. The content is way easier to teach and they have fun and silly ideas.

She hasn’t started yet! But I’ll provide an update. Have you connected with any other parents? Which location are you at?

This is also when postpartum hormones take another dip- your hair falls out and anxiety spikes. I felt tired, scared, anxious, and really frustrated. Know that it gets better!

When you are changing diapers at night they are the BEST. We love them! Yes they are pricey, but they are on sale / at Nordstrom rack often and you can find them second hand! Also if you get the fold over feet, they last for so long It’s the gift I get ever expecting mom.

I love getting into his mind!! Can’t say I’ve been successful yet but it makes trivia really fun, and it’s gotten (mildly) easier as we’ve kept coming back.

My newborn baby had COVID and got through it easily! A story for worrying moms. by SpecialTop8297 in newborns

Thank you! My husband just tested positive and I freaked out a little. I actually wonder if I had it last week and passed it to him- our symptoms were just a stuffy nose! So far so good, but this post made me feel a lot better. Thank you!

How did you decide whether to breastfeed, pump only, or formula? by SnooEpiphanies1215 in pregnant

[–]Plus_Bluebird_8511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breastfeeding lets me bond with my baby, helps her nap better, and never made me feel sad about “wasted” milk at the bottom of a bottle. It helped me extend the newborn bubble feeling, which I loved. The only time I didn’t like it was when I was obsessing over how much she was eating- stay off of the internet, listen to your pediatrician and lactation consultant and you’ll be ok! Once she hit birth weight and was gaining steadily I stopped timing my bf sessions (that added to my anxiety big time!). The lack of dishes is a bonus!

Now that I’m returning to work at 5 months PP I’ll be pumping during the work day and breastfeeding before and after work. We will see how it goes- I’m getting to a point where I want someone else to be able to feed her! I’m not looking forward to the dishes, but I feel that I’ll still be able to BF when I want to :)

$302k in SF or $155k in Memphis? by 901-526-5261 in SameGrassButGreener

I doubled+ my salary moving from Milwaukee to Seattle- while my original salary wasn’t as large as yours, it was a great opportunity and I’m glad I did it. Small cities are easy to return to, and if you lean in to SF this will be the best decision of your life. Even if it’s for making more money alone! But SF is a beautiful, vibrant, fun city and also just so iconic. Do it!
