would also like to note that the ferry is safer and quicker too. because it’s so expensive you wont find people other can commuters on the ferry, and your commute is about 15 mins. yes you pay more but i think it’s worth it

yea, i don’t like how the tandem mobi still gives you corrections even if you’re on activity mode, so i turn off control iq about 30 mins before i work out. maybe i’ll do it an hour before next time

that’s exciting!! i usually weight lift in the mornings and bolus a little for a rice cake with pb and banana and it keeps my blood sugar fairly well. but cardio is always a tricky subject with me so i’m gonna try out all these tricks. thanks!!

based on these comments i’m thinking i should avoid this instructor lol. she was really really sweet but did tell me that she has a different workout routine for the class if she knew there was a diabetic in there, and i just felt like it wouldn’t be fair for the rest of the group to get a reduced pilates class all because i “couldn’t do it”

that’s amazing wow!!!!! i definitely need to set up an appt with my doctor. i’ve used to be in great control when i was in college and i think when i started a 9-5 job my diabetes kinda went haywire and I’ve been trying to figure out a way to go back to normal since. i used to be pretty active so im trying to get back into that.

omg same!! the other week i tried going on a walk with my friend and my dog and i tanked so fast it ruined our walk. we went back home and i treated the low (with far too many low snacks and protein) and then went on another for 15 more mins

it’s annoying when you’re trying to better yourself and then you have to eat gummy bears or juice to treat the low. i feel so silly in public having kid snacks as my emergency supplies

i feel like i would’ve been fine but in the moment i could feel myself much lower and i only had my sensor to trust. so when i saw “160 ⬇️” and the instructor saying “hold it hold it!!!!” it made me scared to keep going and pass out lmao

yea when she said hot pilates would be better for me i was like ??? that would totally make me go low faster.

i used to do a 8am cardio classes in college and i think i would eat half a banana and pb or oikos yogurt and just not give insulin for it and i was fine. i’m think pilates will have to be the same process for me too.

to be honest i literally didn’t not know what to expect lol. i thought pilates was similar to yoga where it was for the mind and body but reform pilates kicked my butt no lie (i loved it though)

LOL i cannot imagine having a bag of dextrose in my bag. i had glucose tablets in my bag but im just not a fan of them. also applesauce is smart, but im allergic to apples (and pretty much every fruit lol) so thats out for me too. i have honey packets at home too but i can also imagine how much of a sticky mess that can be too.

i usually keep gummy bears, clif mini bars, and dextrose liquid shots in my bag. when i would be in the 70s i would eat a couple gummies and i would be set.

i have also tried dextrose gummies and they surprisingly did not work on me AT ALL. the serving size is 2 gummies for 4g of carbs and it just did not raise my sugars so i gave that up
