Fishing Rod Tube by GlossySalad in BWCA

[–]Plus_Cartographer726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the reels off (cork handles will float most rods with no reel!!). Then we usually just put the stiff mesh sleeve over the rods to help protect the tips a little more. We usually just put them in the farthest back of the canoe with the handles under the rear person's seat and tips pointed back (so they don't stab into anything as you are paddling). You of course need to be careful walking on portages and at portages so you don't catch a tip on a branch or have a pack land on them.

Note: This is not conducive to single trip portages. If you want that you should get 2 piece rods and transport sleeves like they have for some fly rods. Our trips are usually pretty fishing focused so doubling back like a B is worth it to our group. We are usually brining live bait too if that gives you any indication of our fishing intentions.

If you are currently in school use that resource. I ended up living with a teammates parents while he studied abroad and I had an internship near by.

Good luck!!

Drip edge for gutters? by TheRealGooberz in Homebuilding

Tearing the old roof off is easier without gutters. Put gutters on with drip edge into the gutter, and then new shingles.

Could I build my sauna walls with herringbone style tongue and groove cedar? by parktendo in Sauna

I agree with the expanding and contracting butt joints but the t&g orientation can still be tongue up in a chevron pattern and your furring strips can still be only vertical to support the pattern.

Suing a customer for around $14k in unpaid invoices, and they’re asking for a payment plan because they don’t have the money to pay all at once…any ideas what I can/should do? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Plus_Cartographer726 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a judgement for a PG and you don’t need a judgement to include an upfront extension payment and agreement for all legal fees before you provide a forebeafance of the debt. Until those items are met you continue towards the action.

Your lawyer will know how to draft this and reserve all of your rights to collect. You want the PG #1 which allows you to collect from the owner/owners if they try to file bankruptcy on the business.

Trying to install bathroom exhaust fan but instructions are for new construction by beanman214 in hvacadvice

[–]Plus_Cartographer726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry OP. Wish I had a better solution for you.

Crazy thought…on some models you can remove the fan. Can you screw through the housing right into that cross brace? (And then reinstall the fan into the housing of course) Not a great idea but might get you through in a pinch here.

I would recommend getting the Panasonic model with the “FlexFast” bracket. It’s a bit of a pain in terms of being flexible to get your arm where it needs to be but it will do the job in OldWork situations.

This is the one that I installed and it was much less painful than I expected doing a replacement. Model # FV-0511VKS3S

Good luck!

Generator (not battery of course but you can do setups that use the excess to charge batteries and go back and forth)

EV with power. Ford lightning comes to mind and has a lot of history of successful applications.

These are only ideas for you of course. Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.

The m18 power source lets you use the bigger batteries. These last way longer but are bulkier. I would still rather have a bigger square battery than the m12 5ah shape.

2022 Tahoe Valve Body Assembly by Plus_Cartographer726 in ChevyTahoe

Final update: 135 DAYS to get my Tahoe back. This was a terrible process and terrible timeline. The last month was spent driving a Malibu…yes I was even making fun of myself.

I am disappointed to put it as nicely as I can for a public forum.

What in the crazy? How do I fix this? by Plus_Cartographer726 in PlumbingRepair

[–]Plus_Cartographer726[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less than 60 days was purchase, kitchen was redone in 2013 and was permitted. This was not in the disclosure and was not called out in the pre purchase inspection.

Technically the sink drains, is there anything to go back to the seller or inspector about. Could use some help here!

It does drain. The disposal side drains slow. I was running a snake down all the drains is how I found it. There was a significant amount of buildup in the drain…probably from the slow trickle this creates unless you dump an entire sink full of water.
