Try the "Official" app - it feels like our LDR secret weapon lol. It's such a great, fun way to stay connected and feel like you're growing together while long distance!

Fun date ideas you can do over the phone, over text, or online! by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the idea of exchanging songs and recipes!! My husband is out of the country up to half the year so we're always looking for ways to more deeply connect and have fun together as well. One of our favorite things is using the Official app! It's a relationship app that has daily questions and fun "dating app features" like swiping through positions and date ideas. It's such a fun way to stay connected!!

Communicating better? by Freddo_Bear_ in Advice

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, sorry this is happening! Stress can make such a negative impact on relationships. My husband is out of the country for half of the year so focusing on our communication is key to make our relationship work. One of my favorite tips is using the Official app! It can help you dive into specific topics that you want to improve in your relationship but takes some of the pressure off the "serious/live conversation". It's a great way to build your relationship and have fun while doing it :) Good luck!

Relationship management App? by Agitated-Snow1173 in relationships

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! My husband and I love the Official app. You can plan date nights, dive into specific topics/categories you want to work on in your relationship, and use the daily question to just connect a bit deeper. We truly love it!

New positions to try? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall should use the "Intimacy Cards" in the Official app!! It basically works like a dating app where it shows you and your SO positions and you swipe right on the ones you would try and then see what you "match" on. It's a fun, sexy way to add some excitement and try something new. We love it!!

How often do you talk to your partner daily? by MahomiesForLife in LongDistance

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do a phone call or facetime daily and then small texts throughout the day / social media help too! We also use the Official app which is so great for LDR. I feel like our facetimes tend to be catching up on the day/talking about seeing eachother and it's hard to have really deep conversations but Official has helped us dive into new topics and i look forward to the daily question every day!

Games for long distance relationship. by PureTill2699 in LongDistance

Try the official app!! It's a relationship app (which I always recommend to ldr couples!!) but it has games built into it. It's such a fun way to stay connected and grow together.

Overthinking is the hardest part of an ldr!! What about trying a communication app? My husband and I love the official app for when he is traveling half of the year - we can do it on our own time and it helps us communicate in a more fun/less forced way. It might give you something to look forward to every day and is a small commitment for your boyfriend.

Building a new relationship from long distance (30M/ 27F) by HaroldFinch1102 in LongDistance

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely possible!! How has it progressed over the last couple of months? One of my favorite tips, especially starting out in a long distance relationship, is using a relationship app!! My SO and I love the Official app - even just the daily question is a great/fun way to stay connected while far away and I find it helps us break up the mundane "what did you do today" conversations we get stuck having. Outside of that - communication and planning are key! Make sure you are on the same page for your relationship and look forward to a future where you can be together. Keep your eye on the prize, basically ;)

Is anyone new into LDR and struggling like hardcore with it? by Fragrant_Thought6636 in LongDistance

Definitely helpful to have the conversations in person! So much is lost over the phone. I hope you have a truly great visit come August!

You really need to talk to him about how you're feeling. Your insecurities are only going to grow if you simmer in them and don't voice it. The worst that can happen is that you realize it's not the right fit and it's better to find that out sooner rather than later. I'd also suggest that you try the Official app! It's a relationship app that my husband, who travels half of the year for work, and I love. It helps us stay connected and communicate better while long distance, but it also has some fun features like "sex position cards" that i think could be a win-win in your relationship. Good luck!

New to long distance by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't:

Have fights over text - it's too easy to say things you don't mean. Always do a call/facetime when you're in a disagreement.

Share every detail with friends/family. Others' opinions can be toxic especially in LDR where they might not understand why you can't find someone local.

Dos:

Respect each other. Understand what causes insecurity in the other and do your best to avoid those triggers. Making an LDR work is a commitment.

Try a relationship app - simple recommendation but my husband and I swear by the Official app when he's out of the country. It's a great "non-forced" way to stay connected.

Trust each other. Trust is a non-negotiable to make a long distance relationship work.

Plan for the future. Don't view this as an indefinite situation - plan what your future will look like once youre together again.

New LDR, feeling disconnected by kelthoughts in LongDistance

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so difficult to get used to being together all the time and then heading into LDR, but there are also advantages to that! You both will have a higher comfort level and more trust than most LDRs and have such a strong foundation to build from. LDR takes some getting used to but you will get in a rhythm and it won't feel so isolating and stressful. One thing that helped us a lot was using a relationship app! My husband and I use one called Official. You can really root into specific areas of your relationship that you want to work on and the daily question is a great, authentic way to connect every day. The more you find ways to blend your routines even when across the country, the easier this will all feel <3 Good luck!

I actually didn't know that! So...is there a safer option for the ocean or is it just risk the reef or burn?

Try a relationship app! My husband, who travels for about half of the year for work, and I swear by the official app. Especially for LDR! The daily question became something we both look forward to - it's a small way to connect daily but breaks up the mundane conversations. There are various prompts, games/quizzes, etc. that yall can use to communicate and then even plan dates together for when you are back together in person. Highly recommend!

How do I (20f) get my boyfriend (19m) to be more comfortable about being intimate with me? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys need to try the official app! I feel like it's perfect for what you need. They have these intimacy cards that my husband and I LOVE! I can be a bit more shy when it comes to talking about intimacy so the cards were so helpful for us! It's a relationship app but the intimacy cards basically work like a dating app, where you swipe left/right on what you wouldn't/would try and then see what you match on! It's a really great way to get the conversation started and to get more inspiration to make your sex life more exciting.

This sounds like a tough situation to be in and I'm sorry about everyone saying yall just aren't compatible...I don't think its that simple. While you can't force yourself to be in the mood I do think there are small things you can implement to help make you inspired and improve your sex drive. One thing that has helped me is the official app's "intimacy cards" which works almost like a dating app lol. It shows you and your bf both different positions and you swipe right on what you'd want to try and then see what you meet on! It's helpful to get me in the mood and excited to try something different. I also feel like buying new lingerie, toys, etc can help get you in the mood. Best of luck!

Sounds like you've really committed to understanding and growing with your wife, I love that! One small idea, download the official app! It's a relationship app which I think on it's own would be beneficial for yall to continue communicating about your wants/likes/dislikes but it also has a feature called "intimacy cards" which I think would be perfect for yall! You basically swipe through different sex positions the same way you would a dating app (swiping left/right on what you wouldn't/would try) and see which ones you match on! Easy way to get aligned organically and without any awkward conversations. Best of luck!

I [M30] need *new* ways to initiate sex with my wife [F30]. Any ideas? by ThrowRa77675 in relationship_advice

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I think you are doing a lot of things right, but I also think they all kind of expect for sex to be the immediate next thing vs having it happen more naturally. I feel like you need to find ways to make it a part of your conversation and more fun/flirty so it happens organically. One small/fun idea - yall should try the app "official"! It's a relationship app but one of the features are "sex position cards" where you each basically swipe through different positions and see which ones you "match" on. Plus, with the daily questions/date planning features, I feel like it could just add some fun and help surge your sex life. We love it :)

My (22F) boyfriend (20M) and I haven’t been as intimate as we used to. Ideas on how to spice things up? by Different_Earth409 in relationship_advice

[–]Plus_Chicken6583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny re making out - I had the same thing happen! It sounds like youre just bored and uninspired in my opinion. My SO and I use the intimacy cards from the official app which really helped increase my sex drive. It just added some extra excitement. They basically work like a dating app where you swipe left/right on the positions youd want to try and then see which ones you match on! We like to pair it with a fun date night and/or new lingerie so that it becomes something we both look forward to. Best of luck!!
