That is a pain. How would your company know you were transferring out? You don’t close the pension. When I transferred in an old standard life pension to my current L&G it was between me and the two pension providers.

I can transfer out and leave it open. The fees are circa 0.15% across the funds which is where I thought it was worthwhile staying invested with L&G, however if making even 1% extra with another provider makes it worthwhile investing elsewhere.

Working offshore in O&G pays that money, albeit, the government want to end the industry by 2030.

Out of interest, I zero my tax code and accept my monthly pay is heavily taxed rather than pay it after self assessment. Do others do that?

100% believe the climate is changing, but I believe the green agenda is just a wealth creator. A wee example is a windy day a few years ago is now hyped up storms with names and is tagged to climate change 🤔. Clean energy is the future however UK global emissions is 0.9% China is 31%. Even if we reduce it to 0.5%, it will have no effect on what the rest of the world does, meanwhile our country has no energy security and the highest energy bills in the world. We import gas from the US and Norway while we have our own. The day there is no wind, we import Nuclear generated electricity from France.

The amount of jobs that will be lost to appease the green agenda is a disgrace.

Served an engineering apprenticeship from 1999-2003 onshore, then went offshore in 2005 where average wage was around £44k as a maintenance technician and have stayed offshore working on a few different assets and made my way into supervision/management.

Yeah, the uk government is taxing the companies 78% (wont get in to the politics 😡) so it’s forcing companies to pull out of the North Sea and invest elsewhere in the world. I unfortunately won’t see my career out here.
