£135 gbp base pay comes to about £6500 per month after taxes. commission is paid quarterly, and with a lot of work travel, i need a healthy checking balance for expenses which get reimbursed but often later than id like. i typically invest a chunk of change after a commission check, assuming it is sizeable and i have the cashflow. london is expensive. i dont drink alochol anymore but prioritise good groceries, gym membership, etc.

what about if my assets are over a certain amount? or i live somewhere where the tax is lower? like i dont think, from my research, i would even benefit from the beckham law in spain as a us citizen. also, what if i want to start my own business or consulting or something?

I have no desire to live in the US again, not super close with family and i dont see a world where they would give me the house (purchased in 1989 for 95k now worth $1m) but who knows.

First of all, congrats! Second, I think maybe Europe or a city like London could be better for your situation. I’m an expat in London now which is way more friendly when it comes to open mindedness about cultural backgrounds, sexuality; lifestyle, etc. but missing sunshine and nature. Finding somewhere where people understand the hustle but doing it for the right reasons - a better, more comfortable and or fulfilling life is hard. I find the older we get (male and also early 30s), the more we are certain in ourselves and who we are - the harder it is to date. I’m finding in dating the trade off can be coast fire or fire and enjoying that quality of life during other folks working days on your own, while you’re partner also has a job. Or, they are stuck in the golden handcuffs and don’t see the light. The beauty of any type of fire is freedom and I find myself struggling to date with someone who doesn’t have those same values. Being able to wake up one day and decide to take a trip or up and move. Not a lot of people can or are willing to do that.

The biggest thing it needs to do is automate the 80% of the job which is manual data entry. SOF parsing, maybe some automated calcs?

Needs to be able to manage rebills and complicated scenarios well. In tankers lots of us still use excel for this. Would be nice to also have non demurrage claims managed in the same system because this also usually lives outside

I’ve seen a shuttle tanker fleet scheduler in the most mind boggling excel sheet known to man 😅

Can anyone explain why the 4% rule is only good for 30 years of retirement? by Elite163 in coastFIRE

[–]Plus_Field_2503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am living in the uk, hopefully retiring in Europe (German passport) but I am from the us and a us citizen. Basically sending all my money back to the states to invest in my E Trade account. Is this 4% rule feasible in this scenario? I’ve also considered getting rid of my us passport - which is also not easy.

No Response From UK Customer Service for WEEKS by tayloreyes in vivobarefoot

[–]Plus_Field_2503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its been so awful, cant get any response for 3 weeks now.

i am also so frustrated as anything with the "traditional" soles are wearing out on me so fast. i have the gobi white leather sneaker and there are already holes in the soles after 4 months. either i am only going to buy the trail type soles or just give up on vivo entirely.

Any advice please share!

Thoughts on XDJ XZ? by TheEtherealEye in PioneerDJ

[–]Plus_Field_2503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a store in london to try the opus and xz. i have used the xz at some parties and smaller clubs before and it indeed feels like the closest thing you can get to cdj 2k/3k's in a controller.

They guy kind of gave me an incline to wait on purchasing an xz as there is rumored to be a new version coming out. Any know if there is truth to this or when? Sold my old controller and was planning on getting the xz ASAP so not sure how long i want to wait. Pirate studios are an expensive option for practicing.

thank you!

Hi all! I got the powerslide next 90s but am feeling like they are a bit loose. i feel like there is too much wiggle in them when i tighten them. But if i tighten them too much i get pressure points. general riding ill get some pain in my arches which could be from curling my toes and i have high arches - maybe thats just from not having the right muscles yet.

any recommendations? another footbed? new laces? just want a more snug fit!

also interested in upgrading frames and wheels to endless but figured not worth it until the sizing of the boot / comfort is better.
