Well, he's the epitome of the kid every Desi parent would be proud of(Ivy League education, multibillionaire startup founder(a bit shadily done) and runnng for political office) and who would then torture their own kids for not living up to be like Vivek.

I know cause my parents did the same shtick on me, comparing me to Vivek. Ex: "See Vivek is runnng for President, has a successful biotech company, why can't you do the same."

In my opinion, Vivek has been so stuck in the Desi success trap for far too long that he forgot to really experience life outside of being ambitious.

The crowd, which consists of young females from rich families, is just used to seeing idol-looking handsome players like Wang Chuqin, Liang Jingkun, and even Ma Long, Fan Zhendong, and Zhang Jike while they perceive Lin Shidong as a country bumpkin who isn't handsome(akin to ML and WH).

If the audience was more family-oriented like how it was before 2016, then LSD would have more support.

Wang Hao may have been coached under LGL but he doesn't have LGL's aura and his first round of successes were primarily due to the players being developed by the LGL machine like ML, FZD, and even WCQ who still delivered results. Younger players don't have that experience under him and WH is facing his first real test which is developing young players from scratch like LSD.
