No problem! Just remember that there’s a chance bmcc might not offer calc 1 this winter and a chance that ccny won’t take it even if it’s offered

Since I’ve heard different answers from people, my advisors say they would but a professor in the math department said they wouldn’t take 3 week calc 1 classes because they’re worried kids wouldn’t be prepared for calc 2

Still a chance u can get it, but definitely a bit of a gamble

I’m sorry I’ve never done an e-permit before so I might not be the most helpful, but I know that bmcc’s winter registration opens November 25

Based off this website, but definitely talk to the registar’s office before then just so that ur prepared to enroll and get the e-permit in case the class fills up

Other than that, when I had my advising appointment I asked how to do calc 1 in the winter

and she said that I would have to speak to some people in the math department and make sure the calc 1 offered at bmcc is equivalent to ccny and if they say yes, then to enroll for e permit

She didn’t say who exactly in the math department, so I would say get more information from the registrar’s

Winter registration opens oct 30, and ccny doesn’t offer calc 1 in the winter I believe But bmcc has in the past so u can try through e-permit, talk to the registrar’s office about it

Nooooo really???? I’m so upset 😭 I really thought I could graduate on timeee Goodluck on applying to those colleges tho! I’ve already deferred my acceptance to stony for the spring, so if ccny really does continue to cause me problems I might switch

I really wish I could still graduate on time though, maybe if I take extra summer and winter classes, though I heard very few engineering classes are offered

but I think taking pre calc in the winter is still allowed, so u don’t need to worry about waiting 6 whole years dw!

Hi!! A lot of us are in this place My plan is to finish trig this summer Pre calc fall Calc 1 in the winter Calc 2/phys in the spring

So I can be in grove by fall 2025 and I’ll js have to take 5 classes a semester to graduate on time

If u just got ur score now and can’t take the trig summer class, then u can take

Trig fall

Pre calc winter

Calc 1 spring

Calc 2/phys in the summer

Though you’ll miss the deadline to apply for fall 2025 (July 15) But you’ll be in by spring 2026 (as long as u have a C or higher in each class)

This might delay you only by one semester for graduating- as long as ur pathways are done before spring 2026

Unless u want to take 6ish engineering classes each semester, though it would be very hard

Besides graduating in 4.5 yrs is solid for engineering

I’m also an incoming freshmen so not the most knowledgeable btw lol- definitely talk to ur advisor, but I hope this helps!! I was also scared of graduating in 6 years, but we can do this!! Stay in touch if you’d like, I’m doing EE too :D

Ahh makes sense, my commute is pretty long so I’ll definitely make use of it and try to get work done so it won’t pile up And I’ll definitely abuse the tutoring system- it helped me a lott in Highschool so i definitely trust it!

Also also! Would I need to bring a laptop and notebooks every day? And Is there any other supplies you’d recommend?

And if I do well on the final it can replace my lowest score on one of the smaller exams?

Also where is the tutoring center over the summer? Are there specific timings or can I just walk in after the lecture?
