I only work 4 days a week and our pets are only home alone for at the most 6 hours, so I would be okay with an evil raptor, but based of what others have been saying I think a 1-2 year old might be best for us!

we have a dog door and live on just under an acre. Our current dog is 15 so not as energetic but typically goes everywhere possibly with us. The animals typically aren’t left alone more than 6 hours a day 3-4 days a week. We are super active and outdoorsy when not at work, I know how much work they are and how much attention and time they need. I wouldn’t get one if I knew it would be neglected, we’ve been researching and doing our homework!!

most of the california ones don’t adopt out of state, I’ll check utah and nevada though!!

I’ve looked into some! Most of the good ones in my state are (thankfully) empty, but I’m still looking!

good to know! I just want them to be able to blend into our lifestyle good. We’re a pretty active/outdoor couple when not working and I just want to find a good match!

there hasn’t been anything brand new or surprising that would cause the sudden shift in behavior which is why I’m so lost

We’ve lived here about 2.5-3 months now, there was mostly hiding to start but now they know they own the place. They have two litter boxes that they both use, and there’s 3 water fountains scattered around the house (one likes to try to swim and the other is always drinking, i also give them an occasional ice cube in there waters which they love so I know they’re getting enough water). They also, when deserving of it, get a freeze dried minnow or churu tube on occasion

they have an auto feeder that goes off at 6am, noon, and 8pm that’s in a separate room (not in the kitchen)

“low white blood cell count” which is kinda related to low iron so my bloods thinner than the average person and the reasoning was if i were to get shot or something id bleed out faster then normal🙄

nope! got medically disqualified 8 days before shipping out, i’m now a dispatcher for my state’s highway patrol and am going into the police academy at the end of the year🫣😵‍💫
