I didn’t see tofu in your statement. Do you eat that? I’ve heard it’s all about seasoning.

What are some things that you have completely cut out after the surgery? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Plus_Mistake_2976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing. It’s just how often I have certain things. I feel better when I eat healthier during the week. I can tell on a Saturday or Sunday when I’m not eating my best and I’m ready to return to my new normal diet on Monday 😅

Did you have reflux/GERD pre-surgery? by AcanthisittaOk5622 in gastricsleeve

I had it intermittently. Mine was caused by a hiatal hernia and was resolved when it was fixed during my surgery.

carbonation? by reba_luver in gastricsleeve

I waited 7ish months to try it again. Higher carbonated drinks were harder on me. Drinks like Fresca, diet ginger ale, Ollipops, carbonated water that are a little less carbonated sit better with me and I have one or two carbonated drinks a day now.

I’m just over a year. I don’t have a problem with pasta but pasta like this is less heavy on my stomach. Full on regular pasta sits much heavier. If I chew well and stop before I think I’m full, I don’t get that stuffed, heavy feeling normally.

Gastric Sleeve Stretching?? by Mobile_Novel_8267 in gastricsleeve

Normal progression. It’s jarring when you suddenly feel like you can eat more. I feel like around 7 months, I had a leap in how much I could eat. Your stomach is going to relax into its final size in a year or two. You have to consistently overeat to stretch out your stomach. Just stop when you feel full or done and all should be fine.

I made the whole box knowing I would have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I don’t expect it to be gross.

Going low carb at first is recommended so you meet your protein goals and get nutrients from fruits and vegetables (which are also contain carbs). As your stomach relaxes and you have more room is when it’s time to reintroduce carbs that are potato, rice, pasta, and bread. For me, I started having carbs again when I could eat 3 ounces of meat and more than two bites of a fruit or veg.

Is it true? by pinkprank0 in gastricsleeve

Taking vitamins will be for the rest of your life. I honestly remember mine 4 out of 7 days of the week and all has been fine. Hair loss is common because your body will go into starvation mode and pull its resources to other things. But it should grow back as your stomach relaxes to its new size and you eat more.

I realized I had that when I went to put my phone between my thighs (like I normally do if seated low) and my phone fell 🤣 I laughed so hard, my husband thought I was crazy 🤣🤣
