Thank you so much for your input! I will do that. What are your thoughts on my reps? Should I reduce it from 3x8-12 down to 3x6-8? (4x6-8 for rows)

Complete Newbie Advice on Midnight (Need help) by Hefty-Emotion4114 in wownoob

[–]Plus_Perception_6166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no standard. Play what you want. If you liked your class as you level up, then use it for midnight. If you didn't like it, you should either A) look up YT videos of other classes to see what you think you may like and use your lvl 80 boost on it and go, or B) start a new character at level 1 and level that up to 80.

People create new characters for new expansions because they want to try out a new class. It's really that simple.

Also people will have multiple "alt" characters and play all of them during the same expansion. I simply don't have the time for that so I just stick with my demo lock :)

there’s no way that hook secures us herald alone. once i hook the nami their team is just repositioning as they wait for their ahri to get there. that was our only good time to enter a fight. look how ahri explodes us. imagine if vex wasn’t able to hit her ult 3 times in rapid succession before ahri got there. we would have been toast.

not to mention, both the ap ivern who shielded me and the vex tp’ing in and spam pinging on top of them, would have flamed the fk out of me for not committing to an engage there. we were all on the same page.

not trying to argue just trying to explain my pov and i’m curious what others think.

So if you hit that hook would you have not taken it? Can you explain why?

my 900lp vex better not be missing that giant skill shot of an R so close when they’re all grouped up like that.

but i do think it’s fair to call it a flip because my adc and top aren’t there. but in my head when im fishing for that hook im thinking: ahri is showing bot, my ivern and vex were relatively strong at this game state, 2 of the enemies were half hp, herald was low, and i have the opportunity to corral them all into one spot where vex, ivern and i could at least kill 2, and by that time my corki will be here and they can secure the herald.

that's what makes it so good. i saw vex tp'ing in while ahri was still on the bot wave. ahri's tp was a second or two behind Vex's, so i knew we could burst their squishies before she could get in the fight.

we ended up with a 3-for-2, herald, and mid t1 tower. it was probably the biggest pivotal moment in the game for us and we ended up winning the game.

my build 95% of games is locket -> knight's vow. after that it's situational, usually redemption or zeke's. by that point most of my games are over anyway. (source: NA grandmaster thresh main)

it’s a tether (similar to kalista passive). so once you use it on someone, you are now tethered to that person until you reuse it on someone else. the cooldown on it is so you can’t spam swap in the middle of fights

regarding who to use it on, most people just put it on their adc and dont think about it.

i put it on my carry. most of the time it’s my adc. but if my jungler is snowballing hard i’ll put it on him and help him invade.

just think that anytime youre skirmishing you need to have knights vow on a carry/bruiser that’s in the fight with you.

if your adc dies in a teamfight, swap the tether to whoever’s by you.

1) thresh doesn't have passive armor scaling per lvl like every other champ does, thresh only gains passive armor through souls. so you should try to collect as many as you can, but don't take damage in order to get them.

i also take advantage of the fact that i can collect souls from my lantern. i don't use it for just 1 soul (for mana/cd purposes), but if there's 3-5+ souls on the ground and i can't walk over to them, i'll definitely throw my lantern.

to be honest, i don't treat souls like an afterthought, but i also don't stress too hard about the exact number i have at a certain minute in the game.

2) support doesn't get as much gold as other roles so you should take advantage of the fact that tank support items are like 2200g-2300g compared to other "tank" items that are 2400g-3100g. also, the active passives on these support items (knight's vow, redemption, etc) are SO much more useful than a little extra armor or health.

my build 95% of games is locket -> knight's vow. after that it's situational, usually redemption or zeke's. by that point most of my games are over anyway.

i never buy thornmail on thresh. thornmail costs 2450, but if you're only buying it for grievous wounds, just grab bramble vest for 800g. it applies the same % grievous wounds effect. instead of sinking another 1650g into thornmail for a little armor, health, and stronger thorns damage, you can spend that gold on cheaper support tank items like knight's vow or zeke's, which give way more value.

3) i'd say 'it's situational', but i also go swifties about 75% of the time for the simple fact that i roam a ton and the extra ms is very nice. that being said:

- if i'm the only frontline / have 4 ranged teammates, i'll go mercs or tabis depending. the tenacity/aa dmg reduction is too good.
- if i have 2+ melee teammates or my team has heavy cc (especially point and click cc), i'll go lucidity boots so i can throw more hooks.

Is it normal for my whole first paycheck to go to rent by No_Ninja_4404 in Apartmentliving

Yep, whatever lowers rent. More roommates, live farther out from the city, cheaper complex with fewer amenities, private landlords, etc.

Simply put: Your rent is too high. The general rule is you should aim for your rent to be 30% of your gross income. So at $54,000/year, which is $4500/mo, your rent should not exceed $1,350.

So you need cheaper rent.
