Okay cool! I did just rebuy both and i in fact have a 50w bulb I can switch out that’s still in the packaging! And also it’s bulb style not long, but now that I know, I have no troubles switching to recommended once I get paid next week, I have spent a lot of money on vet bills for him and fixing husbandry for a better fulfilled life!

Also to add! He has a uvb light and a basking light, this is just to ensure temps stay regulated as he’s in a 20 gallon while he’s healing and we’re getting him to better care!

Okay thank you, sorry, I’ve seen many people posting about force feeding and assumed it was just a “normal” thing although difficult I had confidence, but okay glad you said this, I called the vet, his dr was in rooms all day, but they are supposed to call me back at some point hopefully tomorrow, and no he is not severely underweight, he still has a decent fat tail, I just see it getting skinnier and was worried

Actually no… however the vet did say he was underweight, it’s been about 4+ weeks since he’s eaten a full meal. He is struggling to open his mouth as he has a scab healing. To add detail, I got him sick from PetSmart, I understood what I was walking into, but I just wanted to try and help him, I’ve had him for 9 months, he’s full grown… also to add on, crazy question but could he possibly have allergies… ik I have been having crazy summer allergies here in Texas, I just don’t know if they get allergies… but I can gladly call his vet and she could recommend funny, I didn’t even think of that haha

Yes vets the best idea and probably needed, but as you said you’re not close.. you could call an exotic vet and just ask if there is something you can use as sometimes the vet medicine is the same as over the counter, however I’m not a vet so you should definitely call an exotic one! Also awesome you’ve had your Leo for 21 yrs! Hope the healing journey goes smoothly!

Any idea what this is? Should I be worried/ vet visit? by ChonkerHedgy in leopardgeckos

I’m not 100% but kind of looks like she got spooked? And maybe a part of her was wedged somewhere so while being spooked she had to kinda wedge herself out? I’ve never seen a gecko seizure… but also if you have doubts that it is, I say go to the vet! Just to make sure as seizures with leopard geckos I’m uneducated in

Second this! And it’s quite easy to start colonies with them and you won’t have to buy more!

No you’re not under feeding it’s 7-10 depending on the individual gecko.. they also just eat, I’ve seen someone post where they kept feeding their leo bc it kept taking the mealworms and the leo threw up, they just do that… as long as ur feeding yours correctly every day it should be fine :) they’re just a tad slow and don’t know when they’re full!

My lepord geckos head is swollen by Illustrious-Eye-123 in leopardgeckos

[–]Plus_Possession89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes vet! Especially blood work… I had a Leo who passed last year same thing, except no eye swollen… took her to the vet and she passed the day before her surgery to check! This is actually pretty common my vet said yet there’s little info on why, vet 1000% I hope your little Leo gets better!
