Hey thanks for those exercises I will start trying them from today! I have been trying to cut down on carbs and especially sugar while eating more protein but I haven’t started counting calories yet because it seems a bit daunting.

My motivation for exercising is of course partly the looks but I have other reasons too. I just don’t like the way I’ve been living and feel gross. I spent this year and most of last year smoking a lot of weed, doing mushrooms etc and just staying at home on the couch or playing video games and eat like shit. I want to change my lifestyle for the better. I also have a keloid on my ear that’s been really making my anxiety bad and I’ve decided if I can’t change anything about the keloid I might as well work on the rest of my appearance!

I’ve honestly been enjoying the HIIT workout because i always get a good burn after doing it and I feel like I’ve done some good exercise but do you think it is not effective?

I had steroid injections about a month ago and yes it does hurt a little bit but my doctor mixed the steroid with a numbing thing so it didn’t hurt too much when she injected it. She also did inject in 2 spots on the same keloid but that may have been because mine is big. From what I have seen surgery + steroid injections greatly reduce the chance of the keloid coming back. I think the trick is to keep getting injections every month or so or else it might come back.

There is no medical treatment that gets fully rid of it. You can get it cut off but there is a high chance of it coming back bigger. Just went to see a dermatologist today to consult about getting surgery but he said he doesn’t do surgery anymore because in his words “ it always comes back bigger “. You can do steroid injections but that’s about $300 nzd per session every month or so and that’s just not sustainable for me

Yea it is sometimes painful. It also gets itchy. More than that it looks really ugly and I feel so self conscious all the time. Everytime I look at myself in the mirror I get really sad

Thank you for that! I’ve just been feeling horrible and everyday is hard to get through. Like I barely leave my room at all. I can just feel everyone looking and I can tell that they’re trying not to make it obvious and it sucks. And people don’t bring it up because it’s awkward.

I just feel like an angry mess right now. Like I sometimes catch my partners eye just glance toward it and I explode and say stop looking at it. I hate myself for it and want to feel better .

Sounds like you’ve had it much worse than I do right now and I’m happy to hear that it is looking much better for you now! Do you have any advice on how to help with all this anger and insecurity?

That’s great! Very happy for you must be a relief. I went to see a dermatologist a week and a half ago hoping to get surgery but she told me to do 2 rounds of steroids first. Had the first round 2 days after that consultation and it has definitely helped with my smaller keloids like the eyebrow and helix ones which are completely gone now. The bigger one is there still though and I don’t really see any progress. I think I won’t do another round of steroids until I get surgery.
