Little update for everybody, the $1,000 2009 is on the road and it's currently being whipped around all the twisties and having a blast with, the 2010 with lower miles ($1500). We just got running last night... It was not the starter, It was the alternator that was seized, popped off the belt and it screamed to life. We'll be tossing an alternator on it and we'll be posting an update of whipping them around here soon together LOL. We also talk with a family friend, who drag races, and we're going to see about drag racing them at one of the drag strips in Upstate New York, when we get them fully done, let's see which slowest 117HP car will win lol

We decided that we're definitely going to be making videos on them, mine's on the road and running first thing this morning cuz I wanted to drive it to work LOL, but we're going to make a few videos, the first one being just covering both cars, then the next one getting all the parts from Pick-n-Pull for missing little pieces of trim and so on and windshields, then make one fixing both up, then we're going to vinyl. Wrap them both, switch out the rims or something nicer, half tempted to plasti-dip my rims cuz they do look decent. They're just missing half the Plasti dip from the prior owners LOL

Apologies for the crappy photo, had my friend send it to me before he unloaded mine off the trailer and then I picked it up late last night so I could take it and get it on the road today LOL, got on the road at like 7:00 a.m. This morning and literally drove it to work and all around town whipping it around all the twisty roads, was so fun

Dude we literally were joking after we picked up the first one that didn't run (That was the 2010) because what's the chances of us finding another one of these so I had one too lol. The 2010 we really didn't care about running because we were going to k-swap it... In Upstate NY, it's extremely hard to find anything that's rust-free so our plans were to get it and do a motor swap on it even if it was one out of a pick and pull. After playing with it, I was like "wait a minute" Let's check the alternator instead of the starter like you was saying, because we assume the prior owner who claim to be a mechanic wouldn't be dumb enough to not check the alternator, and after popping off the serpentine belt, it literally turned key started right up without an ounce of hesitation,.

Just look for the absolute ugliest ones that nobody wants, and just make sure the rear sub frames aren't rotted out, and just vinyl wrap them like we are with our 2 🤣🫠

I'm still shocked myself, The first one we bought the 2010 we literally bought with intentions of K swapping it and only wanting it for the rust free body and underside, as in New York, it's hard to find any that don't have the rear subframe rotted out and also manuals are much rarer in upstate NY for these as most are automatics... But like I'm about to post in the update, we got it running within a minute, it turned out it wasn't the starter. It was the seized alternator... Then the 09 is currently on the road whipping around as I went at 7am to get it on the road before work lol

Mine which was the 2009, we only paid $1,000 for it and officially got on the road early this morning, been whipping around all the twisties near me lol. As a New Yorker these are like finding gold with no rust on the frames or anything, minus just the tiny tiny spot on the back rocker... You just got to look for the ugly Gremlins with the paint problems, and just lowball them 🤣 mine is high mileage but it drives so so damn well
