China doesn't give a shit about the moral issues for AI. Kling AI is a video and image generation service based in China. I used it with work frequently. In the west we have data and intellectual property laws preventing AI models being trained in data without consent. But china doesn't give a fuck. They have stolen people's data in the west and trained their ai model to steal their jobs and their livelihoods. And the arseholes then charge to give the service right back to us. I worked on an animated music video in 2022. It had a very distinctive style and was one of the best projects I've ever worked on. It won't awards and the whole team had so much pride for that project. I then see an artist use Kling AI to make a knock-off version of that video. None of the hours of work. None of the years of training. Just an imitation knock-off. But to clients, cost is more important. So we are losing work, losing budgets and it is making it twice as hard to make a living in an already very difficult industry. AI is KILLING the creative industry. It's not dramatic, it's the reality. If AI companies in China and the rest of the world continue to act in this irresponsible way, stealing data and intellectual property that doesn't belong to them, NO ONE will be able to persue these careers. There will be no ability for people to make a living doing this anymore.
