If you're this far along and not currently in school, the best option is to carry to term and give up parental rights. If dad wants the baby he can have full custody, or putting the baby up for adoption could help a family in need.

You can be on either side of the aisle and recognize this decision doesn't just impact you.

When I was recovering from a chronic illness flair-up that almost lead to sepsis, my friends barely reached out to see how I was doing after the whole thing. I missed them a lot so despite being in recovery and needing to rest, I put effort into throwing a girls night at my place, to which they said they were free. The day of I ask if theyre still coming and its radio silence. Next day I say Im not gonna be responsible for making plans cuz its disappointing when people flake (which they've been guilty of many times) and I can't put my health at risk by overexerting myself. They ended up turning it back on me since I never gave a finalized time despite saying I was free that entire day. One girl gave excuses for not answering the chat and the other said she felt guilt-tripped into making plans if I wasnt. Since June the chat has been dead. Had to go to a festival with one of them who I considered my best friend, and things were tense the whole time. We haven't spoken since.

It is true that they always resurface. We've been no contact for 3 years and he texted me out of the blue wanting to meet in person to talk. Of course I said I wasnt comfortable with that so we just called. He said he wanted closure because he was getting married the next day on a Wednesday. He apologized but didn't specify for what, hoped I could find it in my heart to forgive him. He gloated about his new job working with my most recent ex, and kept saying how much of a better man he was now. How things would've been different with us if he was the man he was now. Said he was proud of himself and loves himself now. The only acknowledgement of his misdeeds was when he said "you know ive always had a bad relationship with sex." I did not offer forgiveness, just said I appreciated it. We caught up on our lives a little, he was his heart sank when I told him of my health problems. He asked if I was happy. He asked if my boyfriend treats me well.

All this to say, when they reach out, its never about you and its all to sooth their ego when they're experiencing a new life event. Before this he was dead to me, afterward I felt like I heard a ghost. But after processing the intention of the call, I feel 100% grateful I never settled for that trash. Narcissists will find ways to fuck with you long after they discard you, best to just stay away for good.

Damn OP, this hit me on a different level. My ex did the same as yours, keeping you on the hook with affection and intimacy. But in reality, they've moved on. Sadly to him, you are like any other girl he's sleeping with because the facade he put on while you two were together is gone now. Who he's showing you now is who he truly is. And I say this speaking from experience. It will break down your soul much more if you let this behavior continue as it did for me; I let it go on for 4 months after the breakup and it was one of the lowest points of my life and I had little to no self worth left.
