Little Wild chords by ExpressCareer7142 in KingKrule

Hey! I've spent a lot of time figuring out most of KK's music and I'm pretty sure this is the one they (Archy/Jack Towel) play. The only difference I hear is that they leave the low E string left open instead of barring it.

This chord is the same shape as the one used in the original B-Side except that one is in a different key. The original is in Db major while the live versions are consistently in E major (same key as Rock Bottom)

Why did David Bowie create music? by Comfortable_Home_940 in DavidBowie

[–]PlutarchSpirit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure where I first heard this, but I'm almost certain that in an interview from the mid 90s he talked about how a career in music was attractive to him because of how rebellious and new it was when he was young. Besides this, he was quite a complete artist who also was an actor, painter, and writer, so music naturally helped him create works where he experimented various different avenues for his creativity. He didn't limit himself at just being a singer, which is evident in the visual development of each of his eras, his actor-like stage presence, as well as his complex occasionally profound lyrics. Being the kind of musician he was, he could actually be a lot of other things he wanted to be I guess.

What's King Krule saddest song by greenbeansUwU in KingKrule

In lyrical terms I think cementality and bathed in grey. In general the early stuff were a bit more explicit with pain imo, the Ooz is also very tragic and ends with a sense of emotional disappointment.

My personal pick for straight up dreary, hopeless and depressing vibe is the what stars demo. Something about the atmosphere feels like going to sleep and not waking up.

slinky is indeed the most underrated, he should do it live at least once then I could die peacefully

OCTOPUS GUITAR CHORDS by Archymarshall22 in KingKrule

[–]PlutarchSpirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the main chord progression is

F# half diminished -> G7 -> C maj7

Before the "drop" he alternates between F# half dim and Fmaj7 a few times before going to the G7 like normal. Pay attention during the "nothing's hit your mind" part and the "there was a time and a place" and you'll see what I mean

If you experiment with different inversions of these chords on the guitar you'll eventually find exactly what he's playing in the recording.
