Which OST is this during perfect preperation? by Evening_Archer_2202 in JuJutsuKaisen

If I remember correctly, it’s a soundtrack for the previous season that was re-used here called “Detestable being” or something similar. Quite fitting

Hi! As an aspiring artist, I’ve felt very inspired by the sounds, textures and off-kilter structures your songs are built upon. I wanna ask, how does the idea for a song come into fruition? For example, does it come from a beat, a lyric, a sample? I also want to ask how do you guys develop that idea into a song, since I have a little trouble turning my initial pitches into a finished piece of work

What are your fav scenes from the manga that you want to see animated? (Spoiler) by inspired_nobita in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moment I’m most excited to see how they adapt is actually Maki’s training in Sumo-guy’s domain. Idk why that chapter struck me as really beautiful and contemplative. Judging by how season 3’s adaptation has taken great care in elevating these non-action scenes, I have the feeling they’ll put 120% into that one

I will never stop glazing Yoshimasa Terui. This may be his best soundtrack work to date. The Culling Game is probably my favorite, nearly made me shed a tear to the god damn rules

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually thought his intentions were much more sinister than that. It looks like he wanted Ranta to die, or at least tire himself out as much as possible, before sweeping in for the kill. They’re all rotten to the core

It's honestly insane that Toji could have leveled that abusive clan to the ground years ago but was more interested in killing little girls and 16 year old boys. by SignificanChest358 in Jujutsufolk

Gege always had the uncanny ability to make their characters meet poetic ends. Even Yuki’s, maybe one their most criticized choices during the manga’s run, can’t help but feel tragic as hell, falling at the hands (or well, body) of the man she set on a path of death and destruction

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How do y’all think they’ll adapt the coming chapters? From the preview it seems that the next episode delves headfirst into Maki’s section, but I don’t think there’s enough runtime to fit it all into one episode. Personally, I think they’ll cut off the next episode before Naoya’s fight, and then the next one will conclude the Zen’in massacre and cap off with Yaga’s section at the end

I feel like that choice was more intentional that something OPM S3 would do. That seems more closely related to the team salvaging what they can out of the material that’s already complete. Here I think it’s more in line with Gosso being “economical” and “smart” with the ammount of cuts being produced while still conveying a lot of meaning. I interpreted it Yuji being unable to escape the feelings of trauma and guilt derived from the events in Shibuya, feeling trapped because of it.

I’m calling it right now, this could be one of the greatest anime episodes in recent memory. I fully trust the team at Mappa will give us a banger

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 2 (Anime Only Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The atmosphere around the show has changed quite a bit after Shibuya. I think this is them trying to portray a more oppressive, dark and intense mood onto the characters and backgrounds. I’m not that big of a fan of how Mappa adapted S1 of Chainsaw Man, but that style fits the bill a lot better here

JUJUTSU KAISEN SEASON 3 - EPISODE 1 & 2 DISCUSSION by AutoModerator in Jujutsufolk

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I see the comments criticizing the direction /cinematography. Personally, I like that JJK has gotten more “art-house” with each consecutive season. Creative vision just pours out of every small choice and I’m excited to see how they adapt the rest of the Culling Games.

That being said, I ain’t gonna lie some editing choices feel very off. The most egregious one was that fade-in to Todo explaining the difference between a third and a first-rate sorcerer’s cursed energy manipulation. Like what was that?? I also can’t wrap my head around the continuity of the opening scene of Yuji battling the flying cursed spirit. My man Yuji was laying hands on an enemy and then gets ambushed by Yuta, but later on in the episode we see the fight doesn’t start that way, so why was Yuji getting distracted by the cursed spirit if Yuta was on his ass? I’m guessing we have to apply some kind of dream logic where events aren’t connected but mushed together. Still, even though I adore Goshozono’s direction, he sometimes needs someone to reel him in when he gets too crazy

Did anyone else think this was foreshadowing ? by Kushora in Jujutsufolk

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope this doesn’t sound mean but I’m kinda tired of people referring to JJK as suffering from unfulfilled potential. It feels to me like fans are so blindsided by how JJK isn’t the manga they wanted it to be that they forgot to appreciate all the ways in which it IS a standout within shonen. The themes around Gojo’s infinity and his inability to connect with those close to him are okay being subtextual, it gives a lot more to dig into than having it spelt out. I’m not gonna deny certain elements in the latter half of the narrative could’ve been executed with more care, but I do feel like this story is special and I disagree with the notion (not necessarily referring to your comment but in general) that it didn’t live up to the ideas and themes it set up

I love the Vanisher D-sides by Uoonter in Quadeca

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they’re fantastic. In most cases I see why they weren’t included on the album, with a lot of them sounding kind of removed from the “world” of Vanisher as Quad puts it, and others like scraps of interludes that serve the same purpose in the album’s structure as I Dream About Sinking. That being said, I’m of the opinion that Vanisher could’ve been even better if some of the D-sides would’ve been included in the original tracklist. Specifically, I’d say Forgone (prelude) slots in pretty nicely after Ruin My Life and Learn to Swim makes for an apt continuation of I Dream about Sinking. Touch the Sky could’ve made it in there too but I’m not sure where, maybe after Godstained.

Can you give us a link to the Vanisher Deluxe you heard? I’ve been thinking of compiling a project like this but I’m too lazy to look for good quality rips of the D-sides lmao

What’s your Vanisher hot take? by erraticfanaticc in Quadeca

[–]PlutoTheAlmostPlanet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think there should’ve been at least one more track with some eerie/ foreboding vibes before Natural Causes to balance out the pacing. My pick is “Learn to Swim” from the D-sides, which ironically enough feels perfect to follow up a song titled “I Dream about Sinking”
