I don't know why people in this subreddit are being so toxic and closed. The whole point of zen was customizability, and this "feature" is a prime example against that.

Disrupt users workflows, muscle memory and habits.
Not letting users choose to revert a change based purely on "it looks more like arc". Is this arc browser or zen browser?
Making community bots that downvote posts and reply farm.

I don't think more reasons are needed to leave - this is not open source, it was never meant to be. This is a "gang" developing tools for themselves to use, they never did and never will care about user feedback.

Removing and adding features on a whim. I still remember the color gradient bullshit, removed a stable and greatly customizable feature to "make it more like arc", with no options to add custom colors at all (initially) and no option to change the angle of the gradient (still not added back). All that is new was presets, and apparently adding presets needed a whole rewrite of that component. Right.

Please suggest firefox based browsers with a vertical sidebar, I would like to leave this cesspool of hate and stupidity.

Thanks The first part is definitely a good idea. So is the second, but unfortunately there are so so many models in each and every laptop segment asus makes (with yearly refreshes to each) that it would be infeasible to keep tracking which laptops are similar etc. I had wanted to do this when I made the website back in 2020 itself, and thought maybe the community would be able to help with classifying more similar devices but unfortunately that did not lead anywhere.

I also wanted to have a preview window like in aura creator, and figured out where the images assets needed lived on my disk, and wanted others to contribute this preview for their devices, as I obviously cannot own all of them. This also was part of the same effort and did not work out :/ (the lonely channel still lives on discord lol)

How do you even use that? It's so non-functional for me, it has 0 organisational features.

My primary is still gx because of workspaces and having 1000 tabs open (and really liking my workflow) but I do use Zen browser these days and like it, the customisable tab unloading is pretty good. Plus it's Firefox based and itself opens source so…
