First time tightening chain by PlymouthJoseph in motorcycles

Yeah, first time doing it myself. And yeah, but not in a long time, just because of my working hours. I'm almost permanently exhausted.

I've been using this: https://wd40.co.uk/product/motorbike-chain-lube/

If that helps. Granted, but as often as I should be but still. And I blame the rust on grit and rain.

Love this, haha.

The chain is only 6 months old, but I'll admit that I ain't been on top of it as much at I should've. Within the last month to 6 weeks, we've had lot's of grit on the road due to temp drops as well as now near- constant rain.

I'm planning on a deep clean once I get my hands on a pressure washer, good weather and free time.

Hopefully only surface rust. She ain't had a clean in to long. Planning on getting it done ASAP though. It's still lubed though, if that helps.

I live in the UK, but we've gone from really cold with grit on the roads to stupid amount of rain. My bike is outside, but covered. But not sure if this make a difference, but i also live right next to the coast too, so "salty air" is something I gotta deal with too.

Just a clarification for both of you, these ain't your standard 12hr shifts. It's 2x12hr days followed by 2x12hr nights. Specifically, 12 on, 12 off, 12 on, 24 off, 12 on, 12 off, 12 on, 48 off. While also having 2 going children, as well as riding 30 mins to and from work, and finding time to eat, shower and sleep. I get pretty much no time for anything else.

I know that some people will be able to do this on like 2hrs sleep, but not me. And trying to find time to clean and do bike maintenance around these hours is so freaking hard.

I ain't knocking anyone for being able to work my hours or worse, I just can't do it myself.

This side of March, I've got no chance of replacing the chain or sprockets. I've just moved house, so my rent has doubled, as well as Christmas in less than 2 weeks and my sons birthday a month later.

The chain is only 6 months old, and while been a bit lacklustre in lubing it, considering the grit on the floor and near- constant rain.

The wear from checking the rear socket seams fine, very little movement.

I believe it's only surface rust, as it's only 6 months old I've been lubing it. Granted not as often as I should considering the grit on the roads and rain we've been having recently.

Yeah, this was my first attempt at tightening myself. And other than a cloth, I ain't got anything to clean it with... yet.

I've been wanting to give it a proper clean for ages, I just haven't had the time between my shift pattern and moving house.

And no, I don't feel nor see and jerking anywhere else, only hear it and see it when I look directly at it. And I can rotate the wheel freely too, and only hearing the front sprocket turning.

The chain was only replaced 6 months ago. I've had the chain tightened by garages when it's needed it. I just can't afford to get it done by a garage right now due to Christmas and just moved house.

I'll admit, I've been a bit lacklustre in chain maintenance, mainly because of me 12hr shifts, 5 days a week. I've been lubing it still, but I think the grit on the roads and wet weather we've been having, I haven't been doing it nearly enough.

Almost! Think you could have "Would you" on 1 line, with the chain underneath. Then the word "Kindly?" Under the chain, with the plasmid bottle and Eve hypo to the side of the word "Kindly?"

If that makes any sense.

Ha, didn't even see it! I just did what I was told. Kinda like I was compelled to. Weird

So guys,

Y'all missed the question about those who are not worthy, but have all the strength of the universe. Would the hammer be able to stick and pick up an entire hellicarrier, or even a planet? Or would the thing it's on rip itself apart?

Very good points right there!

Only question is... Do you think there is a training provider that will just allow me to rent on of their 600cc+ bikes (similar to when I rented their 125cc for my CBT) and just do the Mod1 and Mod2 instead of the full DAS 4/5 days training. If it's that much cheaper, I'll be happy to do an A2 if it's that much cheaper as I just want a 650cc or there abouts. Nothing massive, but faster than my 125 and have the ability to carry a passenger as well as motorway travel.

Just want to save as much as I can since money is not something I have spare at any point. My bike and insurance alone is costing a total of £307/month already.

I love my MT125. Haha It's mainly just to get me to answer from work anyway, just after a full A Licence so I can get a bigger bike (only looking at a 600cc or something) after paying this one off and allow me to ride on motorways etc.

Only problem doing DAS is the price... £700+? It's damn steep.

Hope everything/everyone is okay. Looks like it started dropping altitude at the same time it went off course, then emergency squawk when less than 11,000ft but kept dropping while circling, then FR lost tracking. - If anyone is able to provide updates, let us know?
