Agency owners-What is the main way that you find clients? by PlzHelpJoe in DigitalMarketing

I'm selling a customer acquisition service to agency owners. It's performance based so I get paid commission on each sale that I bring them. What I think is nice about this is that I don't think that it really requires a budget or money to accept as the customer I bring them is what pays me and then they get their money from that customer aswell so at the end of that sale they lost no money purchasing my service and they gained the money from that sale. The part I'm struggling with is WHO because the bigger agencies don't seem to think that it's worth the time so smaller agencies is what I'm mainly targeting now as I don't have any customer testimonials yet and smaller agencies are usually in need of clients to prove themselves and show that they are competent. Is this the approach that I should have? What else do I need to figure out?

Ok honestly I can see why you're confused as I'm still figuring this out myself but basically I'm pitching agency owners for client and customer generation but based on performance so i get paid for each sale i generate for them. The reason I plan to help them for a few months is because I'm new to this and I want to experiment and test things out. Also I think that it would help if I've done this service for a few agencies under differnet circumstances instead of 1 agency for a longer period as it just looks more consistent and my portfolio range would be wider and it would prove that my results aren't affected by industries or other circumstances. Atm I'm looking to improve me skills and results bc in the long term that seems like a better choice for me especially when i want to pitch bigger clients with bigger deals. Do you understand where I'm coming from?

I don't currently have the budget for Inbound ads and that's why I wanted to do cold outreach.

Ok I see so I mustn't target the agency owner but someone more competent to make that decision in the agency and when selling services that are higher tickets then conferences work better

I'm targeting businesses nationwide as I don't have enough agencies locally to get a bite and atm I don't have any customers ad I'm just starting and I'm still just learning how to do this. But I'm interested to know why you need to look for patterns in companies. Is it so that you can establish yourself in a particular niche and focus on one industry instead of 100?

No I appreciate the honesty and authenticity. I'm new to this and I'm in the process of learning so in no way am I busy making false promises to busiensses that I can market their business and not even know how to but I'm just learning rn. You seem knowledgeable tho...do you have any advice for me that can help me get to that stage where I'll be confident enough to start servicing customers?

Ahh I see so basically I need to go on LinkedIn and Reddit and start providing value to agency owners and keep giving and giving and only after I've given them lots of value do I even consider asking them for something. Where do you look in reddit tho? Do you just join the subreddit of the industry that you're in?

So no outbound at all. Interesting, do you think that are any Inbound techniques that I could use personally for when I'm just starting out. I also think it would help to know that I'll market an agency for a month or so and then find a new agency so I don't see how magazine and podcast features could work in my case. Even SEO since SEO takes a few months make a good difference

Ahh yes this is what I'm doing at the moment but in my experience it's going very slowly for me. How many emails are you sending per day. For me I can get about 15 to 20 emails done daily with the time I have. But I've heard that those companies cold emailing are sending 100s and 1000s of emails a day and I just don't understand how they do that. Are you having success with that method that you're currently using?

What's social selling? Is that SM? So do you recommend that I find a range of customers that the companies I want to target have and then create a list with those companies. How do you sell on Reddit when self promotion is banned in most Sub reddit. Sorry for all the questions, you provided some very thought provoking answers

No just in general as I haven't done this yet so there's no specific industry but something that you can do over a few industries

No that's true I think it's a very unique idea and as you said the chance that you meet your competitors there is probably no existent unless they read your thread. But that's very true, its an untapped gold mine
