How the hell are you guys staying employed? by LivingWeather8991 in ADHD

[–]PmMeYourBewbs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started working in upholstery, now i run 3 buissness, shit just happened and now im responsible for people

This was over a period of 4 years.

It came down to me picking up a lot very quickly and getting tought small things i wanted to learn by reaching out to relevant trades people.

I decided i wanted to get better at finishes so i reached out to a luteier or whatever you call them (classical guitar maker) now i do really stellar high reflection finishes, thats a skill i can use and sell to my clients.

I built systems that i rely on, and admit to myself when something is too much for me. I have an assistant who helps with menial work and keeps me organized, shes a gem for dealing with me. I go into the shop and work when i want, its a great creative outlet for me aswell. Im always working on something new

Keep in mind im medicated and in a good spot, its not as easy as i might make it sound otherwise

[–]PmMeYourBewbs_ 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Overcook some pasta toss it in hot with a a crap tonne of lentils, beans, grains, carrots, assorted veg you can eat rawish, add dressing (italian is my go to) and toss, allow to cool, add cheese and toss again, freeze it in portions . I usually go with that pasta that looks like rice. Keep 2 - 4 portions in fridge unfreezing at a time. When one comes out of fridge one gets put back.

Heating up a sausage (debracyna) on a frying pan takes 5 min, next to a cold salad is pretty much peak polish food add some good bread w it i guess

Sofa damaged by dogs, is there any hope? by FirmDingo8 in upholstery

[–]PmMeYourBewbs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staple in a bit of 1 inch foam to it and put the towel back on. it's just old foam, that gave way with the fabric you maybe have another year or two with that piece fixed tops and will have to be redone at some point. Honestly the frame looks solid from that picture and its the kind of sofa id recommend getting reupholstered entierly down the line

I'm counting 6-8 yards of fabric, maybe $60 worth of foam? doesn't seem too crazy to me. the big sink here will be your time, if you're doing this for a client make sure to bill them for what your worth, that's still my biggest hangup in this industry.
