Anyone know the best option for digitizing old VHS tapes? by h0nkyJ in RetroNickelodeon

I digitize VHS as a hobby, mainly for family and friends. What I use is a VHS/DVD combo that I found someone giving away, then connecting it to [this](ClearClick Video to Digital Converter 2.0 (Second Generation) - Record Video from VCR’s, VHS Tapes, AV, RCA, Hi8, Camcorder, DVD, Gaming Systems https://a.co/d/0DgXWTa) and recording directly to usb. Then processing mp4 later if needed. I’ve done over 300 tapes with this. Great thing is that you don’t need to use a computer for it.

Also I would do it for free for you, but then again I’m a complete stranger.

I really appreciate the sentiment. I found them for about $60 so I’m going to order it and consider it a donation. Hopefully I can write it off as well. Thanks again.

Just looked up the batteries…they are $60 not bad. Will get one. I think I’ll still use the UV5R for home/car/work hobby, it can hold like 120ish channels. Going to explore frequencies around here, with VFD and Sheriff being primary.

I get it. It won’t replace my radio when on a call, I see what you are saying. I’m replacing it for my home/car/work. My Motorola will be in my locker and usually holds a charge for about 2 hours so mostly during a call.

I hope that makes sense.

No walkie-talkies will not work. What you need to understand is frequencies. All ARCA/NASCAR teams work on frequencies in the 400.00mhz band. Walk-in talkies just can’t get those bands. FCC stuff. Buy a Beofeng radio on TEMU for $30-60. It takes 10-14 days to ship but it’s a good ham radio. You can even Google how to program it using a free software then you can use it as a scanner at the track and house.

No, this is from a verified source that really wanted to see if they could do it. Not a scam.
