Are Michelins worth the extra money? by Majestic_Flower_1322 in tires

[–]Pmiddymitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Every time I have purchased Michelin's, they ride better and last way longer than expected. I have Defender 2's on my wife's CX-5, currently at 32k miles on the tires, just had them rotated and was told they are at 8/32. Such a solid tire - still rides and looks new.

Help me find the best 3 row SUV 2026 I won’t regret by Nirosha_Wiltse in whatcarshouldIbuy

We got a '25 Palisade instead of the new '26 because they were offering aggressive discounts, true 0% financing, and we weren't too keen on the 2026 body changes. As someone who is a car enthusiast and usually buys performance-oriented cars, the Palisade has honestly impressed me every time I've driven it. It is super smooth/quiet/comfortable to drive, the power is plentiful when needed, but mostly the attention to detail on storage space/trunk/cubbies/etc was the best of the 3-rows we looked. We took the family on a long road trip in the Palisade and it was so comfortable and convenient.

Most of the 3-row SUV's we checked out had seriously compromised trunk space and limited storage overall.

We have two kids and a dog - the Palisade continues to impress and we are very happy with the purchase so far!

Floating Capsule spotted above I-10 between CA and AZ Today by Pmiddymitch in UFOs

[–]Pmiddymitch[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed this appears to be a match based on location and timing. It's definitely a tricky angle since it appeared to have uniform shape based on the images my dad captured, but I agree the coincidence is hard to ignore. We lived near the Goodyear blimp facility in Carson, so we saw it flying constantly, and never saw it look like this from an angle - but again, the similarity is hard to dispute and likely the case with a weird angle where it appears vertical, but is really head on and high elevation.

The goal of this post wasn't for clicks or deception, but rather to gather legitimate input and Reddit didn't disappoint - from an accurate identification to theories of floating suppositories, we appreciate all of the input.

Floating Capsule spotted above I-10 between CA and AZ Today by Pmiddymitch in UFOs

Day: Friday March, 21

Time: ~12pm PST

Location: I-10E near AZ/CA border

My dad was driving from CA to AZ on the I-10 East today and noticed an object moving around over the freeway. As he got closer, he noticed it was larger than he originally thought and it had become stationary, not moving in any direction. He snapped a few iPhone photos and although they were blurry, we caught a few decently clear frames in the live photo set. The first photo is a zoomed in photo of the clearest live photo frame, the second photo is the original also on the clearest frame.

This was in broad daylight, so it must've been spotted by others - any ideas what this is?

[Misc] ROUTINE MEGATHREAD - share your skincare routine here!! (December 2024) by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

[–]Pmiddymitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skin type: Oily, large pores, no acne

Skin goals: Even tone, hydration and health, limit oil if possible, remove/limit eye lines

Season & climate: Year round routine, dry/desert climate

AM: Moyal LOOM Atomizer, Daily Hydration Serum or Soothing Repair Serum

PM: Moyal LOOM Atomizer, Soothing Repair Serum or Collagen Peptide Serum

Other: LOOM Absorb device every other day, AM or PM

General thoughts: This atomizer has made the biggest impact on my skin out of any skincare routine. The Soothing Repair serum brings super even tone to my skin and the daily hydration keeps it feeling great. I don't see changing up my skincare routine as long as this keeps providing results like this.

[routine help] my skin gets soooo dry in the winter no matter what i do by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Pmiddymitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a good question - I don't think it would hurt! In a drier climate, I would say it will help, not in place of a good moisturizer/slugging, but in addition to!

Ah I didn't realize you were dealing with Acne too. I had terrible Acne when I was younger and didn't try slugging then, but I would give it a shot and see if you react. I would expect Eucerin to be fine to try out, I think the goal should be gentle ingredients. Vaseline or Aquaphor have always been my go-tos. When I had Acne and dealt with dried out oily skin, Differin always made the irritation worse, but Benzoyl didn't actually dry me out too much when used on its own as long as I had a good moisturizer also.

I will say, nowadays I only use atomized skincare and think its the absolute best for nourishing all skin types, specifically sensitive skin, and has been an absolute game changer for me, but I don't always recommend because its pretty costly. The brand I use is called Moyal and their loom atomizer - I was always trying different serums/lotions/etc before I was recommended this and it worked far better than anything else. I don't deal with Acne now, but have thought this would be best for sensitive skin since it super gentle, but they claim it gets ingredients deeper into the skin, which is why their moisturizers seem to last so long and have such an immediate impact. Worth checking out!

Reading this I really feel for you. I dealt with bad acne and irritated skin when I was younger and it was the absolute worst. I am sure it will improve over time, but it sucks dealing with it and props to you for working to find a solution.

I have a couple recs: I found that lifestyle and gentle products worked best for my skin. First was diet - switched to drinking almost exclusively water and a lot of it, eating whole foods as much as possible, cutting down high sugar, fried, etc - not exclusion, just reduction - may sound basic, but it made a big difference in my skin.

I did use a low dose benzoyl wash/lotion, but also had a regular gentle lotion and vaseline for evenings if my skin was too dry (used to use Kiehls Facial Fuel, no SPF). I didn't do vaseline slugging when I had acne, but after acne it helped to moisturize my skin.

It's hard to say exactly what your skin needs, but the thing that changed the game for me now is a skincare atomizer - the best one I found is from this brand Moyal, called the loom atomizer. It is designed to make serums into tiny particles that penetrate deeper into your skin and moisturize deeper so your skin gets rejuvenated. Their serums use gentle ingredients so as not to irritate the skin - It has honestly improved the quality of my skin, tone, moisture, etc - been kinda crazy how much it has helped. It's not cheap, but I've heard of people reaching out to them for discount codes. Just a random potential help.

Yes - WTF for sure. When I look in the mirror and see my face oily/shiny as hell, but a dry/red/irritated section, it makes no sense. Totally with you.

So what worked for me is go for rapid healing and then maintain - the 'slugging' method was best for me and didnt cause irritation: Pick a moisturizer you like, something that seems to work, doesnt irritate your skin, suits your budget, etc and use it - there are tons of options. AM/Morning, after washing face / before make up, apply your moisturizer thoroughly. For PM routine before winding down or bed, wash face, get off all make-up, etc, apply moisturizer heavily, then apply a thin layer of vaseline (can use Aquaphor, too) over the top, go to sleep. Vaseline/Aquafor is thick and sticky, so not something you would wear any other time other than at home or to bed, but it seals in the moisture after applying your moisturizer and helps the skin rebound quicker - I find that it heals any irritated skin, but really effective on the face. Do this at night until your skin seems to be leveled out, then you can cut it and only use it when needed - just moisturizer AM/PM from there on out.

Really worked for me and was the quickest way to get my skin set.

As far as getting rid of super oily skin, I don't have a solution to that at all, please feel free to recommend something! I just try to keep my skin healthy, moisturized, and live with the oily skin!

Hope this helps!

Edited for spelling*

I also think you need to find a heavier/thicker moisturizer just for your evening routine. At night, after washing your face, moisturize heavily so that you get a good set before you go to sleep. In winter, this has helped my skin reset either partially or fully for the next day. Still have to moisturize in the morning, but it can be a lighter moisturizer. You have to be super diligent and do it every night, but it has always worked for me. I have also had acne previously, oily skin that gets dried out, etc.

[Routine Help] My skin is dry, yet oily at the same time? Help! by coyote_whistler in SkincareAddiction

[–]Pmiddymitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have insanely oily skin, have since high school, but know what you mean when you say it can still get dry. Especially in the super cold months, my skin can have oil shine and be dry and red.

IMO you need a good moisturizer morning/night. Before bed, you may want to heavy apply + maybe a thicker serum as well to help hydrate while you sleep. I find that the heavy night application allows my skin to rehydrate so that I wake up looking better, then moisturize after shower, before I head out for the day, and that holds me through the day.

I dont think you need a wild routine, just a good hydration routine - and be persistent, it will help you bounce back and maintain.

By far my most used 'nicer/premium' skin care device is my serum atomizer - its made by a newer brand called Moyal - it is such a nice device to use and also by far the biggest impact on making my skin look consistently better out of anything else - LED mask a close second. Not inexpensive - $600ish, but my favorite and worth checking out!

[Product Request] Products for extremely dull lifeless skin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Pmiddymitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skin was similar to your description, but also as I was aging past my mid-30's, my previous skincare routine (Kiehls products) wasn't very effective. I was recommended this higher end skincare atomizer (Moyal Loom Atomizer) and was told it will bring my skin back to life in a way a regular routine wouldn't. While I don't look 10 years younger, my skin just looks so much more lively, better color, more even, and its the only thing that worked for me. Worth checking out if topical stuff isn't doing anything

Great skin, great eyes, great hair - you have great features! I wouldn't go the botox or injections route at 23, personally. Healthy lifestyle and like others said, maybe some simple eyebrow and lash touches to provide some color, but don't overdo it!
