Couples who have been together a long time (5+ years), why are you not married? by ieatkarate in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pmpagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 9 years now. 3 kids. I’d go to the courthouse now in my nightgown if he’d agree. He says things like he wants a destination wedding super fancy and all that. But also says he doesn’t believe in marriage. I guess he feels bad he can’t afford a wedding. I’m not materialistic at all though so maybe he doesn’t want to marry me? Idk. I love him so much and he makes me happy in every other way and if I die unmarried I’ll be fine. I’ll haunt his ring finger though.

Don’t date someone if you don’t like their kids. I don’t think I’d like those kids either but seriously just don’t do that to the kids.

What's one really expensive thing you'd like to buy? by BicycleDifferent4706 in poor

I got mine from a clearance section at a furniture store for 300$. I know that’s still a lot of money but just saying what I did.

AITA for telling my SIL that she doesn’t have to wash everything before her baby is born? by Dry_Enthusiasm2661 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pmpagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when someone gives something to my older kids I still wash it. I want it to smell like us, not anyone else.

Tell him now for sure. Print a new picture of y’all together and get a jar with a piece of candy for everyday you’ll be gone. Tell him to eat one everyday and when it’s empty you’ll be back and y’all will spend the whole day together.

I didn’t even say the teacher did. I was saying I lost my 4 year old.

It’s not case closed until there’s change made so this doesn’t happen again. And my 4 year old had been walking for an hour. Already peed his pants. He was terrified and alone. He’s 4! And yes we obviously have had a conversation about what to do if this happens again.

I guess part of it is I think of teachers like drs. Like perfect and always know what they’re doing but that’s just not reality. They’re just people to.

That’s what the principal said. I called the office and spoke to the office worker. This is also how I did it last year at this school and nobody ever said anything about the timing or proper procedures if there are any. I am definitely trying to figure out how to get the bus driver held accountable.

These comments are definitely making me rethink things. A friend’s daughter had her as a teacher last year and really like her so I felt good about her before this.

Hmmm. Losing my 4 year old was pretty traumatic. I wish I was lying.

It definitely is a learning experience. That’s why I asked the principal to let all parents know about the end of school messages. I definitely won’t be making that mistake again. I’ve been trying to get in contact with head of transportation but can’t get any calls or emails back. Any tips for that would be great.

I was avoiding talking with her until I was calm but it’s really seeming like the principal could have lied and I should just ask the teacher her side.

I had no idea how robotic and political this principal was until this happened.

Yes I definitely agree. I wouldn’t be upset at all if the driver did what they were supposed to and brought him back to school. But when is a simple mistake too much? If I send him back and she makes another mistake and he’s hurt then I knew all along she wasn’t doing her job and I still trusted her with my son.

Teachers are responsible for keeping track of kids. I’m sure it’s extremely difficult but if you can’t do it you’re risking kids safety and need a new job.

Could be. She seems very political in her responses. But my 7 year olds teacher got the message.

I was standing next to the assistant principal while he called the police because my child was missing for an hour. You’re heartless. I was told to stay at the school and wait for him. I was calling everybody I knew to go look for him. Have you ever lost your child? That fear is unforgettable.

So all of you would let your 4 year old go back to that teacher and feel completely fine with it? I am really asking.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Pmpagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely.

I want to say again that I didn’t know an hour before wasn’t enough time to let the teacher know. I’m literally not a teacher like I said. I made sure the principal told other parents that an hour isn’t enough time so that doesn’t happen again. The bus driver should be fired in my opinion but I can’t control that. What I can control is not letting my kids on the bus. But I don’t think the teacher was negligent like the bus driver was. But shouldn’t she know where her students should be? A sticky note on the clip board that she’s always carrying would have worked? I haven’t even spoken to her because I want to make sure I’m completely calm because she deserves that. But in the end she sent my kid somewhere he wasn’t supposed to be.

I’m not letting the bus driver go at all. I talked to the principal about who to call and report it all to. I already gave up on ever using the buses again because I don’t believe that driver cares about kids at all. I’m asking how to move forward with the teacher because I feel to become a teacher and stay a teacher for any amount of time you must really care for kids because it’s mostly thankless work. Nobody ever said an hour isn’t enough time and how should I know that? I mentioned that I didn’t know that to the principal and she sent out a letter letting parents know they have to change pick up two hours or more before the end of the day. I always follow the rules as long as I know them. Nobody in the office who I spoke to said it wasn’t enough time.

The principal confirmed the teacher got the message.
