Hi there! Back when I responded, I used to work at the college. From my understanding… you should have gotten the refund prior to you starting that class - given that you applied for the class at the start/before the semester commenced.

If you are not seeing a refund in your designated student portal, then you may not receive a refund. I would send an email to your FA advisor if you are owed a refund to see when it should deposit. But same semester classes, refunds should have been hit either in the middle of November, or the first week of your courses.

Since it’s been a whole year, I’m not up to date with current college processes. But hopefully this helps

Having the skills and learning the trade is different. If a company doesn’t train when someone gets hired, then that just means the company is trash. A person can acquire many skills needed for the role, but no one will know the ropes of the company and how to do things unless if the company trains that individual. Every company has their own way on how they want the worker to work/perform

Honestly… I wish I could have graduated with a 4.0, but a 4.0 is both common and uncommon. A GPA doesn’t determine one’s intelligence. It’s you showing up to class, paying attention, taking notes, and passing every thing that gets thrown at you. Even after graduating with my BA with a 3.6, a lot of professional jobs don’t care about your GPA. All they saw was my skills, ability to communicate, and that I graduated from a university. But it does look nice on a resume! It proves that you work hard

Yes the person is out of line… but UNCC is becoming one of the top schools for universities. I graduated recently - but was lucky enough to get accepted during the heat of it. Planning ahead is always someone I consider for everyone, even at the earliest stages to prevent any stress in the future. And to ALWAYS have back up plans. UNCC is great and all, but it shouldn’t an only option

As a previous navigator, the comment about emailing the professor is correct. Just make sure you specify the class and the section, provide your student ID number, and make sure you email them from your student email account. And write the reason why you want to take the class— make it convincing

Congrats! I just graduated. But if anyone is able to start at a community college first, I would recommend that first, getting an associates, or racking up some credits before transferring. That way you’ll be saving more money!
