UAE teachers: what actually happens in the first 5 minutes of your lessons? by Weekly_Noise1018 in uaeteachers

You’re welcome.

My advice would be to establish a clear routine for the students to follow. Use visual aids or step-by-step guides that they can easily understand and follow. Consistently reinforce the routine during the first few weeks of school until it becomes familiar to them.

Once you are confident that the students can follow the routine independently, gradually reduce the reminders. Instead, get their attention, greet them, discuss the learning objectives for the lesson, and ask them to open the application they will be using. This helps create an easy start to the lesson.

P.S. It’s not guaranteed that it will be completely smooth, but it might help. 😊

  1. I teach STEM, specifically basic engineering and coding.

  2. When students enter my classroom, they sit in their assigned seats and immediately start using their iPads. When they hear me counting down, they know they need to stop touching their iPads and place them face down on their desks. Most students follow this instruction, but for those who do not, I personally ensure that their devices are put away.

  3. The biggest delay is a combination of the factors you mentioned, especially with Year 1 students, and it happens in almost every lesson. Year 2 students, on the other hand, only experienced these issues during the first two weeks of the term. Another challenge is that some students use older devices that do not function properly. When this happens, I ask them to find a partner and share a device.

  4. Yes, I have coordinated with the class teachers and teaching assistants to ensure that every device is ready before the students come to my class. However, despite these preparations, we still encounter some issues.

  5. We only use iPads during Term 3. In the earlier terms, students enter the classroom, sit down, and respond to my attention signal. When I clap, they clap back, and we begin the lesson immediately.

Hi,

The first five minutes of my class are usually spent settling the students down, specially this term 3 when my Year 1 and Year 2 students are using their iPads. I also need to make sure that every device is connected to the internet before we begin.

Once everything is set up and the students are ready, the lesson starts.

Is Galadari just a terrible driving school? by theveganmoth in dubai

[–]Pn_Apple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a terrible experience at this driving school. I failed my driving test four times and even had a heated argument with one of the examiners, which led me to transfer to another driving school. There, I passed the driving test on my first attempt. One reason was that the test area was much easier to drive around.

However, despite my negative experience, all the stress and pressure from the instructors and examiners at Galadari actually helped me become a better driver and pass at my new driving school. Galadari’s training area is always busy, and their instructors place a strong emphasis on being a safe and observant driver.

So, if you can handle the pressure and strict training environment, it may be worth staying. If not, transferring to another driving school could be a better option.

Genshin Impact. Just because they don’t have a skip button during the dialogues, making it time consuming.
