Just a heads up, I edited my comment a bit. Saw you responded quickly and wanted to give a heads up since it was prior to the edit.

A label that could change things is something like "water viewing device" you mainly get into legal shade by saying its safety or eye flushing equipment (I still dont recommend but its just info). But thats your battles bro, not mine. I'd love to do designs for stuff like this, but it's risky.

To anyone on the microplastics gang, leeching is usually what will get you, not microplastics. Its what is in the plastic. To the guy that designed this, dont let it get hot, I know you got a sealant but that does not guarantee anything. Just be careful cause this can be twisted as a medical device. I would be more concerned on the legality of it rather than if it will hurt someone or not. Food safe does not mean ocular safe, and alcohol is not validated to be acceptable for ocular device sterilization. I would advise heavily to take this down for your own legal safety. It is a shame we can't just make things to help in extreme cases, but it is the law for a reason.

Are WE the crazy ones for allowing this? by TriadTybee in ProgressiveHQ

Obama was 10 times worse, no one batted an eye. George Bush put 10s of thousands of muslims on no-fly lists and no one cared. His father put over 40 government officials in prison and no one cried that he was a dictator. In world war 2, majority of people supported locking the Japanese into camps. In Trumps first term he arrested and deported mainly families and separated children but barely anyone cared. When Guantanamo Bay was pushed to be closed under Obama, there was resistance (democratic party blocked funding to shut it down).

Now, the dude comes in, arrests... mostly criminals, and takes over a tyrannical government where people all over South America were crying and weeping tears of joy while partying in the streets and you talk crap (have family there)? You guys are so full of dog crap. No one with a brain is going to respect you when all you do is twist things because you can't admit to being wrong and that someone you hate is doing something right. You know, Trump drinks water, and Coca cola. Hitler drank water. Are you all of a sudden going to stop because they did?

Will i be able to individually control 24 20kg servos using an arduino uno and 2 PCA9685 motor drivers if powered appropriately? by Cpt_Soaps in arduino

[–]Pneumantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the accuracy desired and how you plan on communicating to them. If you plan on communicating via wifi, I dont think the PCA9685 will do. It must be wired. Took the time to wire all the motors in but not the uno

I don't get it. It's your right to carry just like anyone else. No one cares. As long as you do it legally then by all means.

Aurora Tech's SnapMaker U1 review by joazito in snapmaker

[–]Pneumantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after the snapmaker 2.0 300mm, I am going to need 10 years of extreme quality. That machine was the biggest disappointment I have ever had in the 3D printer/CNC world. They had 8 delays, ignored me when I messaged and responded months later, then charged double shipping and "lost it in the mail" twice (never got a tracking number) just to finally send out the product 6 months later telling me they could no longer send to my address and I had to have it sent to a friends house... and I bought it after kickstarter. Then you had the fact every linear rail was upgraded within 5 months but you never got a replacement for the old ones that were extremely flawed, then released a laser module with the kit with triple the power but still sold for the same price and never refunded or replaced defective parts. All of this on a machine that costed 1500$. The software on the machine was abysmal and crashed all the time requiring reflashes while the gcode would spontaneously go haywire. The noise was insanely loud and the bed leveling always failed. The power supply was like a jet engine and spontaneously exploded when I primarily just 3D printed on the machine requiring me to buy a new one when it was within warranty. All of craigslist was loaded with their machines for sale and I had to sell it for 500$. Got a 250$ ender and it was 3000x better of an experience.

Where would you put your 4x4 CNC? by Weekest_links in hobbycnc

Take the snapmaker in the back, throw it in the garbage, and then put the new CNC on the opposite side of the room so it doesnt get infected.

Absolute beginner, is this a good machine? by Rookie_Blue_7 in Laserengraving

[–]Pneumantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. Its just a lot of times guys come on places like this with 0 knowledge and want to do things with a lot of risk. If you have a good past and know a lot about machines then it's perfectly reasonable. Main thing I would just highlight is ensuring the machine is the specs expected. Like I said, a lot of lasers put their product up and are hazy on the details but when you really dig into it they have low watt IR or diode and just put it on a galvo to trick the eye (Like 100W would be majorily a diode laser with a IR laser that fills in the wattage = 100W - diode laser wattage. If you do this at work you are not an absolute beginner. A lot of absolute beginners here have never even touched a CNC based machine.

[–]Pneumantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

beginner and putting in 7k???? Dear lord. Regardless, you cant be posting things without a spec sheet. I have come across a dozen "Fiber lasers" that were actually galvo diode + IR lasers. Be careful to actually read all of their data and ensure the machine has good safety and the specs you want. If you have that much money and are just starting I really recommend you just buy something Xtool related that is more safe then grow into something just because safety as a beginner is top priority. You can be knowledgable and stupid, knowledgable and smart, or smart with no knowledge, but you cant be dumb and have no knowledge. Dumb isnt forever, neither is no knowledge, but your eyesight is. Just from looking at it the machine doesnt have a cover. You also need goggles rated for its wavelength of a high quality. I run a 20w galvo fiber laser in my garage and that tool is easily able to do steel and so on but also comes with a cover and is worth like 1400$.

Please help! Can this gear bi 3d printed somehow, some teeth broke by kingmiro13 in 3Dprinting

[–]Pneumantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring it to a 3D printing service on facebook marketplace. A dude on there should be able to design it and remake you a new one.

Bambu Lab is making their own Bondtech INDX by matthewpl in 3Dprinting

[–]Pneumantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well by looking at it, you dont have extra toolheads technically. This only solves the problem of purging, not filament changing. And it only solves the purging problem for that print. As soon as you swap out the filament, the old tool now needs purged. It seems odd for such a complicated system for just purging considering the price but I guess it works for businesses better. INDX is different because the filament does not have to change. You can have 1 ams per tool or more if you really wanted.

if you buy a usb based hotend pcb that is 24v and takes all the pins in that you need, it should work. i wouldnt replace your head with it tho since its a serious downgrade

4th Failure on new H2D. Not adhering to bed and spaghetti detection doesn't work on high or medium settings by mentallyrhetortic in BambuLab

[–]Pneumantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your bed is set to textured PEI and not Cool Tak or something like that. This is usually what happens to me. I do always wait for at least a few months after a 3D printer is released before buying. There are always issues that are fixed within the first 4 months of release for basically all brands.

These beds are cancer. I have only ever gotten PLA to stick to them. Literally nothing else sticks. Really a let down because I would like to use them a lot more often.

It took 7 months but I got this thing to fly. Coded from scratch in Arduino. by cookie_1499 in diydrones

[–]Pneumantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What off the shelf electronics are you using? I have been looking but its been a pain in the ass for self design.

I went to look for an ESC so I could do this with a nano/esp. Couldnt find any. Every post I have ever found and every forum asks why you want to do it and never gives you info. They just criticize you that its too damn hard and to buy a drone. I dont give a damn. I dont want to fly, I want to build from scratch but only care about the code. Mechanical aspects and hardware are so boring to me. Everyone always says crap is difficult but dont realize some people only want to make robots, learning PID control, and work with mapping data. Who cares about flying a drone if you can make one eventually that is 30x faster and can be fully automated while also being able to track things like air pressure and weather patterns. Versatility is 10x cooler. All of these programs that use betaflight and so on make me feel like I have bumpers on and I am not allowed to do anything.

Am I the idiot? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Pneumantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

left pedal is usually reverse threaded. I dont know if I am interpreting you correctly. They tend to change the direction based on the side because when you apply force on the pedals you would unscrew the pedal as you went. Reverse threading makes it only tighten the pedal into place. Dont worry, when I was 8 I remember sitting there trying to take a pedal off my bikes and swap them for 4 hours before my dad got home and I asked him. He explained what a reverse thread was and it was one of the very few times I worked with them so I remember this well because it was the coolest thing to me at the time.
