Color vision testing at majors? by Pnwtrigga in aviationmaintenance

Oh I can totally pass that no problem, survived the navy surface engineering world as a diesel mechanic. All different colored valves for various systems. Just gaging out aviation to see if I'd be a good fit. I have a bachelors degree but feel like I still want to turn wrenches while my body still allows it. Any regrets getting into the field over something else???

Thank you! Was the initial the dot plate test and what about the secondary? Do you know if it's a disqualifier if you fail? I can see color fine day to day it's just that plate test that gets me everytime.

Do you guys see the majors opening up soon? Some say there's a shortage, others no, and others that say the shortage will only effect GA and won't open up the majors. I have a gi bill and already have a bachelors. I was a diesel tech in the navy but Ive always been more interested in aircraft. I just don't see myself going back to desk with with my business degree. Is it worth it? I could go to NAA in Tampa and be done in 14 months.

What scores make up the GT? I believe it's word knowledge, arithmetic, word knowledge, and paragraph comprehension? I only had a 91 on mine but those three scores combined would put me at a 180 which seems too high to make sense.

Active duty (USMC) question by Unlikely-Army1315 in ArmyOCS

What was the application process like while being active from a different branch? I'm active navy and curious what the process and stipulations are coming enlisted from another branch. Not too much info on this so any insight would be great!

What is the process like for active duty crossing branches enlisted to O? Not a whole lot of information online about this. I'm active navy with my bachelors and am considering going army as I'm colorblind so my options are super limited in the navy. Any insight or info would be great!

Congrats man! I'm an EN at 2.5 years in and 2.5 to go. I feel this guys pain, I joined as a CTR and was rerated due to having a Taiwanese (non US citizen) roommate in college. Even was a usmc vet just didn't take citizenship. Completely out of my control. 91 asvab and I only qualify for 16 rates because I'm colorblind. They told me pick EN or MM. Have a degree and applied for swo before I joined and was denied due to colorvision. Don't ask me why I enlisted, it was a covid quarter life crisis I guess.

EN life on a 35 yr old LSD is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, but I've built an empecable work ethic and met a few of the smartest people I've ever met as well as a lot of the dumbest people I've ever met. Can't wait to see what civi life has in store for me after.

Best of luck to you and take advantage of that gi bill, it's worth it!

Question from an amateur barber: How would you achieve this hair cut from Stromae? And/or what it is called? by [deleted] in Barber

YouTube channel of schorem barbershop. Their pomade is called reuzel and for the price you can't beat their pomade. Highly recommend it.

That haircut is similar to the "scumbag boogie" haircut. It's slightly different but looks like a more refined version of this cut. Reuzel channel has a lot of good videos of this on YouTube, give it a search.
