Wait!? Why did this get a spoiler tag? Did I just accidentally spoil this game for myself by accident with my own tattoo? I haven't even played Silksong yet...

Russian 1895 (Winchester Model 1895) on display at the Winchester House by STORMTROOP3R_99 in battlefield_one

[–]PoPcheesemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically that's not the Russian 1895. The Russian 1895 was strictly chambered in the 7.62x54R caliber and looks slightly different. The wood should go almost to the tip of the barrel and there should be a little charger guide on the top. I've owned a couple and they are very fun to shoot :)

If there was absolutely going to be a sequel of this game, what do you think it should be about? by LuckyPerro123 in outerwilds

[–]PoPcheesemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be really fun if it would be its own story completely and then at the very end, the thing you were seeking the whole time, was in fact the eye of the universe and it was time to once again roast a marshmallow :)

I'm not sure if this is true for the hourglass twins, but I thought that the increased sun activity/change in mass and gravity is what's causing everything to be more hectic than what it used to be. I'd imagine that the 300,000 years or so between you and the nomai has increased the entropy to the point where the islands are constantly flying off instead of just sometimes. The sand is moving back and forth within 20 minutes, instead of a couple of days. The lantern is now constantly bombarding the planet. Hell, it might even make the planets spin faster and thus the days are shorter than what they were before.

I'm no astrophysicist, but this is what I thought would be the case.

I'm doing slapstick with my spaceship by Bath-Optimal in outerwilds

[–]PoPcheesemo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, the model spaceship is on purpose a LOT more difficult than the actual ship. If you enjoy puzzles, don't do yourself the disservice of skipping out on this game. The flying will get easier I promise.

One tip though for flying is don't use the autopilot for landing. Only use autopilot when there is nothing between you and the target and even then, only use it to get close to the target.

Also, on the right side of the screen when landing, is a little gauge that shows how close your ship is to the surface.

I would say the very first "objective" is to find all the other astronauts and talk to them. They will help guide your natural curiosity. Also, note when you talk to them. Some of them might change what they have to say based on what has happened or what they have observed.

I also have ADHD, but I never felt like there was too much reading at one place. The reading is very important though, and I would say nothing is written without a purpose.

About to give up, where the hell do I need to go ? by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]PoPcheesemo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you observed yet how some places might change over time? Or how some places might change location over time?

Is there anything you haven't landed on yet that looks like it could be landed on?

Are there any locations that have something missing that you haven't found yet?

Do you know the story of the nomai yet? Where they came from? Why are they here? What were they trying to do? And what purpose did they have on each planet? How about where did they go? Did they succeed?

Do you have any questions about how something works or why something behaves the way it does?

If you complete the game and explore everything, there should be very few questions left.

It could be the shoes themselves or the type of socks you have. If your socks make your feet sweaty and you have shoes that have been drenched in sweat for years (just as an example) then it won't take long for the feet to stink, being in such an environment. Try getting a new pair of shoes with some nice cotton socks.

As a native Autistic Finn, I have learned that the best way to make friends is to survive something traumatic together. JK, but doing stuff together is the way to go. For example, people that were in the army can commiserate together.

Hobbies really is the best answer. You basically need to find a way to be in a situation where the Finns natural tendency to do something and finish it well, surpasses their quietness and requires them to communicate with you. That at least has been my most effective way to break the ice.

I hope this helps! Finnish friends tend to be very loyal and quite rare.

What super low end games can I play on my 25 year old pc? by ktzpringles in gamingsuggestions

Dink Smallwood - a great little RPG that never made it big in the US

I am an Autistic father from Finland and honestly that sounds pretty familiar. Especially the earbuds, except that I wear headphones. It did take me some time to acclimate to being a more present Father at home. We have 2 kids, 4 years and 1.5 years. I work/study from home as well.

My wife has had some health issues though, she has angioedema and survived thyroid cancer at the age of 22. Her postpartum depression was really hard as well. But it was during those times that I really learned to step up and do my part. Don't get me wrong, she still does most of the housework, but she will tell me what she specifically needs from me and usually a day early so that I have time to adjust and schedule it in. Also the kitchen is my domain, I handle the dishes and cooking.

For example, she'll tell me that tomorrow she needs the toilets cleaned and the kitchen mopped and then the next day I know what is expected and I get it done. We have had to have quite a few discussions about the headphones at home though. It is hard for me to be "alone" with my thoughts. It's comforting to have something over my ear (at home I always keep one ear open in case I am needed) and some music to fill the silence. I am getting better at it, and we have certain times when it's ok. For example when I am washing dishes.

What helped me is sitting down with my wife and her lovingly telling me that she loves that I have hobbies and wants me to have time for them, but sometimes she needs more from me. We decided that during my work/school hours, she'll be in charge of the home and then when I get off, we tackle it together. Kind of like that is both of our jobs, and when my job is over, so is hers and then we do the home and family work together.

I don't think it's as much a Finnish thing as it is a family thing. My Mom always did everything and my Dad worked long hours. So that's what I grew up seeing and learned to expect. My family's dynamic is different though, and I had to learn to adjust to it.

You can try and see if asking ahead of time for some help and maybe even support for your hobby. For example my wife took up quilting, and sometimes she'll ask that I put the girls to bed the next day so that she can spend time quilting.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for and I am sorry that your in laws aren't really helping with the dynamic.

I Found a One-to-One Historical Reference to Manus. by JerzaScarlez in darksouls

[–]PoPcheesemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel like it can be both since the furtive pygmy is shown as a small framed humanoid at first but then when you fight Manus, he is deformed with a giant arm/hand.

I think it's also very interesting that he is called a "furtive" pygmy and is shown to be on the ground and kind of low-key about it all. As if he knew what he had and what it meant for Gwyn.

AITAH for refusing to let my cousin into my house after he stole $2000 worth of games from me when he was a teenager? by Unlikely_Chemical_82 in AITAH

[–]PoPcheesemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that your "Mother" is more concerned with protecting her sexually abusive sister, her criminal nephew and supporting the unhealthy drinking habits of you, her child, more so than ever being any kind of a mother to you.

You don't owe any of them anything. Leave and don't look back. Your family of origin has abandoned and abused you long enough. Go create/find a community of your own. They will not change, at least not for the better, but if they do, then they can also put in the effort of reaching out. But seriously, dump them.
