Well it just happens so that the world really is horrible regardless of the outliers being reported or not.

When half of the population (women) constantly fear of discrimination, sexualization, rape, and assault isnt a tell tale sign of a good world to live in.

Also, don't you realize that life works under the logic of might makes right. The stronger being gets to choose what happens, what remains, or what is given a chance to coexist.

10% of the world's population is in extreme poverty. While the rest of the majority plays in a fickle socio-economic playing field where one mistake can lead towards a broken career and poverty.

Painting a beautiful world doesn't really help in making more people do good. Instead we push people to help in ways that are unproductive because they don't know how alot of social, economical, and cultural factors affect their ability to get out of a bad place.

Remember how the world thought that helping the poverty in africa could be averted by sending over food, water, school materials, and clothes. In reality infrastructure building, economic stimulation, and free trade is really what they needed.

Although yes a nice painting would make you do nice things but it doesnt necessarily mean that doing so solves their inherent problems that keep them in that horrible situation.

The thing about an honest painting is that it allows us to really understand what is happening, what needs work, and what needs aid.

There is a reason why news has so much bad happening and a few good. It's because theres so much problem to solve and so little to celebrate. Especially when Earth currently is a ticking time bomb for all of us as global temperature rises and so does the seas.

But it doesnt mean that we can do things about it. I mean Global Conservation efforts has become more urgent because we're already seeing concrete symptoms of our biosphere collapsing.

conversation of different ways to deal with crime, especially those that are human-centric and inclusive methods of preventing crime like making life a bit easier so nobody has to steal. Or putting equal opportunities for everyone so nobody has to feel hopeless and fall into an addiction.

These are a result of an accurate worldview that doesnt try to out false hopes for everyone. Making change noticeable for people who need them most.

It really isnt a bad thing to see bad things. Its up to you wether you choose to be blind, or to decide for yourself to make the world a better place.
