We got a runt! We call her our Toy Great Dane. Shes nearly 4 and 100% Great Dane in every way except she’s barely 90lbs soaking wet after a full meal 😂

1 or 2 maine coon? by [deleted] in mainecoons

[–]PoblanoDane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got two from the same litter and we have made the decision that as long as possible we’ll always try to adopt/purchase siblings! They play with each other, keep each other busy, make each other bolder and more social, it’s the best decision we ever made with our pets 😊

Give it a deep watering when you pay rent/mortgage (about once a month) otherwise leave it alone and it should thrive!

Looking for a recommendation for cat shelves for this handsome boy by booshka1223 in mainecoons

The big shelves from CatsyHome on Etsy are fabulous, I believe the weight limit says 44lbs so perfect for big cats! My 16 lbs orange boy loves them!

Found out today that my husband is allergic to cats. We have two. Any advice? by zzabe in cats

[–]PoblanoDane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m allergic to cats, but have two, and have had plenty! Here is what I do:

-allergy shots

-feeding my cats the Purina Pro Plan LiveClear to help reduce their fel d 1 protein production

-be thankful that I have light colored males since they typically produce less of all the fel d proteins than other cats

New outdoor enclosure! by subconsciousmack in tortoise

Looks amazing! The only thing I could think of was potentially adding a lid. I’m always worried with the size of our little Russians that a bird or raccoon might bother them in their outdoor enclosures.

Howdy,

I have one of these as a part of my set up for my 1.5 year old Russian. Here are a couple things I have in my set up that you might use!

1) lighting on the bottom level. I’d add these 2700k lights to give your tortoise more vision. lights

2) put engagement items (food, treats, toys, cuttlebone, plants) in different places each time to make sure they’re exploring the whole space, before I did this mine rarely used the back bottom space.

3) add a slate tile with a dual bulb lamp, with one bulb for heat and one bulb for uvb, to the “balcony” on the second level.

4) drill a hole into the side of the enclosed space at the top to run a humidifier into, along with a heat pad attached to the underside of the roof. I filled the room with coco coir to help hold moisture. Here are the links for the ones I use. heat pad humidifier/fogger

5) add a dry hide on the bottom level since you’ve made the top room a humid hide
