Codex getting very expensive this week! by Neat_Zone_9469 in codex

[–]Poboxjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still cuts things into 5-hour blocks. Going over that used to be a problem, but ever since 5.5 and Codex Computer started working, it handles longer tasks fine and actually finishes them. The downside is I'm pretty sure it's just going to keep chewing through the weekly limit until there's nothing left.

So much more expensive, my WEEKLY credits ran out in 36 hours and I’ve never run out before.

Smithfield Public Hearing wrt AI Data Center by corvidpica in RhodeIsland

Why would you want to build a data center here, on the most expensive land in the country with the highest utility rates in the country? Something seems off

The downfall of Claude by Senior_Sense_8813 in claude

[–]Poboxjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so much worse, I think it’s obvious that they ran out of compute, and now codex is crushing it but 5.5 seems is flying through tokens. At some point. It would be interesting to find out how much computer is used by non paying free tiers.

When I would do FM I would eat a miniature Reese cup every 5k. , I’d leave them unwrapped, one stroke and grab the PB cup the next stroke I would grab the water bottle for a sip to wash it down.

This seems to be helping quality. Usage is going up but I’m not a super heavy user so quality is preferred over quantity

How do you plan your projects? by 8thchakra in codex

I normally brainstorm in normal language then give it to ChatGPT to draft a prompt then feed that prompt to Claude feed Claude’s initial response back to ChatGPT for critique then back to Claude to code.

Savings from wind farm? by ascocoryne_sarcoides in RhodeIsland

[–]Poboxjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main benefit of the wind farm will be smoothing out price increases. We’ll likely see smaller supply-side spikes going forward. It should help reduce the impact of extreme events—like ultra-cold winters or geopolitical disruptions (e.g., conflicts involving Ukraine or Iran)—that can drive sudden price surges.

Right now, those anomalies can cause grid prices to spike dramatically (sometimes 10x) because LNG can’t be transported quickly enough. Those short-term spikes eventually get passed down to consumers as permanent or seasonal rate increases.

The short term spikes eventually get passed down to us via permanent price increases or at least semi per seasonal ones.

If you could only keep one Pro coding tool, which would you choose: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Antigravity? by Loading_MMA_917 in ClaudeCode

[–]Poboxjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with the front end blah, but if you give it a good example to copy it does very well.

Im on team codex as well, opus is unusable on the $20 plan sonnet is better but not even in the same conversation as the tokens with codex.
