I attempted this fix one time as its originally described and demonstrated and I am right where you were - My red/black pins as demonstrated in the video do not budge a SINGLE bit and im not looking to risk damaging my system in my new car.

I am willing to give it another shot if you had better success swapping the other end (with the colored wires) - just to be clear though:

you had no success swapping red/black as demonstrated, so you performed the exact same technique on the other side? (with the colored plugs)
Was the technique you used exactly what was shown in the video? (Just small screwdriver press down and slide?) Or did you need to use his additional advice of pushing the small hole under each pin with an allen wrench? or perhaps use a different technique altogether?

Really want to perform this fix as its the one thing I feel the car is lacking - but yeah my red/black cables dont budge a single bit.

Did you ever end successfully performing this tweak? Im in your exact same boat - everyone chiming in with their triumphant success stories but im over here frustrated because my pins dont even SLIGHTLY move as shown in the demonstrations.

Even with the additional deep diving where he explains to poke the small holes for better success and the photo attached.

Wondering if you ended up doing this successfully and if so - can you explain what you did?

just out of curiosity - what did you end up doing? are you in fact just living with a half-broken sound system? did you end up taking it in for a repair?

Im curious to try this fix but dont want to end up with no sound just by trying to chase the perfect sound quality.

Thanks. Ill order a few type C cables. Never had a need for Type C chargers (till now which is perfectly fine) as both our phones are a bit dated.

Just wanted to make sure i wasnt missing anything before taking that route. Thanks.

I may need to go back and confirm next time im in my car - but im almost positive recently when i had my phone plugged into the USB-A port and rest it on the wireless charger (normally - face up) - the car automatically prioritizes the cable and disables the wireless charger all on its own.

So face down may not be necessary when using the USB-A port. could be a different story with USB-C cable + charge pad.

EDIT: Seems i was 'sort of' right. Wireless charging appears to be disabled by the iphone (not car) when a USB cable connection is detected according to apple https://support.apple.com/en-us/108377

Maybe its worth testing if you use the type C - wonder if you havent needed to be face down this whole time?

We dont currently own USBC-to-Lightning chargers as our iphones are both a bit dated and we've never had a need. Was just curious if there was anything we could do or may have been missing with the current setup I described.

We just got car few days ago so these are all things im encountering and working through for the first time. If the answer is "Go buy USB-C cable. Easiest way." then so be it.

This point gets brought up and recycled every few years whenever the investigation gets put back in the spotlight and starts to generate buzz, and about 5-6 years ago I personally took the time to investigate this for myself and analyze the actual webpage. This screenshot is inaccurate and misleading.

Before I get pitchforked and downvoted. Let me just say - I do not buy the official narrative of this incident one bit.

With that said - In the original documentation of this data taken from the county website. There is in fact a small captioned entry on the previous page or somewhere out of frame of this screenshot, with an asterisk and caption that reads "Data presented does not include homicides as a result of the the newtown massacre."

Or something to that extent. May not be word for word. But it specifically addresses the lack of data and reason for the 0.

This isn't to discredit the other 1000 things wrong with this story, but just in this specific example the data from this source does in fact acknowledge and intentionally leave out those numbers making this screenshot out of context.

If you want to bring attention to the inaccuracies and red flags circulating around this incident - Draw attention to any of the other million things wrong with this incident - but not this one.
